Kaity's mother expresses her concern to Zach
In a video posted by ABC, Zach and Kaity's body language reflects their intimacy as the Canadian's family is introduced to 'The Bachelor' star. But when Zach can't force himself to tell Kaity's mother whether he loves her or not, doubts start to emerge. Kaity's mother comments, "Seeing you two in there today, I could see in her eyes that she was very smitten with you. So it was really concerning, because a previous relationship wasn’t maybe the best experience. And I guess I just wanted to see where you are."
In response to her mother's question, "Are we saying possibly that think you might be falling in love with Kaity?" Zach says, "I’m at this point where I can 100% see a future with Kaity." His answer doesn't give her much hope. He adds, "I can tell you this: I can absolutely see myself falling in love with her."
With only a few episodes remaining in the season and in light of the landmark hometown date, one would expect that Zach was already in a committed relationship with, or at the very least, falling for, the woman who has been the front-runner throughout the entire season. But based on his remarks, it appears that for him, it hasn't yet started. Kaity herself gives the impression that she has found affection.
