‘Law & Order: SVU’ Season 25 will see the absence of Molly Burnett as Detective Grace Muncy

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: NBC’s ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,’ or as it is more popularly known as ‘Law & Order: SVU,’ is back for Season 25, however, fans might see a few changes in the latest episodes and one of those includes the absence of  Molly Burnett, who played the role of Detective Grace Muncy in the procedural spin-off of the original ‘Law & Order.’

‘Law & Order: SVU’ has been around since 1999 and has seen several cast members come and go, but after the much-anticipated announcement of the upcoming episodes, fans were looking forward to their favorite return, however, Burnett will be absent from the series, and her character’s exit was evident in ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Season 24 finale.

Molly Burnett’s time in ‘Law & Order: SVU’ was short-lived as she had only joined the series in July 2022 as Detective Grace Muncy, bringing a certain amount of zest to the star-studded cast of the drama series.

However, the two-hour crossover episode of ‘Law & Order: SVU’ and ‘Organized Crime,’ which also served as the finale for both series, showcased the exit of Muncy from the series.

TVLine learned earlier in 2023 that Burnett will no longer be a series regular on ‘Law & Order: SVU’ before diving into how the finale showcased her exit after Muncy accepted a new job and left Captain Olivia Benson’s team.

Wolf Entertainment also released an extended cut of Muncy’s goodbye in the last episode.

Although fans got to say goodbye to Muncy, not much has been revealed on why Burnett left the series after only one season.

David Krumholtz to appear in ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Season 25

As we mentioned before, cast members come and go when it comes to a series that has stood the test of time, which means ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Season 25 will most likely see some new faces, and one of them has been confirmed by TVLine and it none other than David Krumholtz.

The capacity in which Krumholtz will be a part of the upcoming series is still unknown, but as of now, it appears to be a guest role stint, and the actor has shared a glimpse of it on his social media too.
