LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 returned for a new episode with fresh singing sensations. While some contestants really blew the judges and viewers away on the ABC network show, others had to go home with the intention of trying again the following year.

However, 'American Idol' 2023 viewers have witnessed so much drama in the latest episode. The singing competition judges, Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan were divided over several contestants' auditions. Among them was 'The Voice' and 'AGT' alum, Tori Green.

Luke Bryan calls Tori Green's song 'stiff'

Tori performed a rendition of 'Cry Pretty' by Carrie Underwood. Tori sang her heart out and impressed Katy and Lionel. However, Luke might be the 'toughest judge' as he was seemingly not impressed with Tori's vocals and dubbed her song 'stiff'. But Katy strongly disagrees with Luke and said, "perfection isn't necessary." Notably, Lionel supported Katy and gave a 'yes' to Tori. Katy also said yes to the TikTok sensation. Katy and Lionel gave a golden ticket to Hollywood to the aspiring singer despite Luke saying no to Tori.

'He's got me all kinds of confused'

However, social media fans were seemingly not impressed with Luke's decision and they brutally slammed him. While some 'American idol' viewers praised Tori saying, "Tori Green blowing the room away as we come back from commercial. Idk if it was all "in your face" but what I heard was pretty good." A few social media users slammed Luke. A user tweeted, "I usually agree with Luke this season I’ve only disagreed 2x." Another added, "I been a fan of his a long time & usually I can read him buuut he's got me all kinds of confused 🤦🏻‍♀️."
