ONTARIO, CANADA: 'The Bachelor' Season 28 Hometown date wrapped up with Maria Georgas' elimination and it seemed like the ABC show contestant self-sabotaged her connection with Joey Graziadei. During the rose ceremony, Joey awarded his roses to Daisy Kent, Kelsey Anderson, and Rachel Nance. Joey admitted that he eliminated Maria because he had multiple doubts about her.

Joey told Maria after elimination, "We’ve had a bumpy road, but you know I fought for you every time and I’ve chosen us." He elaborated, "And I've tried everything in my power to get to the point of continuing to see a future. And I went into hometowns with you very open and ready to see what came next. And you said everything I needed to hear." 'The Bachelor' star then explained to Maria that he felt it would be 'dishonest' to move forward with her because of 'the amount of doubts that I have.'

However, just before the rose ceremony, Maria pulled Joey for a chat leaving other contestants furious and shocked. She told Joey, "Saying goodbye to you the way that I did, I feel like I didn’t do it in the best way." Maria further shared, "'Cause I told you I can see myself falling in love with you and the thing is, I can't, because, like, I am falling in love with you." However, the viewers were left furious over Maria's 'self-sabotage' action.

A social media user shared, "After maria pulled joey aside absolutely not." Another person added, "Maria, you screwed it up for yourself at hometowns! You had all the time and chance to tell him what you scrambled and told him at the last minute when he had already made his decision. Very good picks for you, Joey." Another X user said, "Self sabotage strikes again for maria."

Another critic noted, "Maria was her own worst enemy as to why she did not get a rose. Consistent questioning of the connection with Joey and not expressing how you feel about him face to face is an easy ticket home." Another internet user penned, "Maria just might have had the biggest self sabotage of all time that was an obvious and awkward fumble my lordddd." Another viewer tweeted, "I have not seen a level of self sabotage like Maria continues to pull off from the likes of anyone I have ever seen.."
