Why did Amanda Mograss get eliminated? 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant admits she 'wasn't ready'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 contestant Amanda Mograss was eliminated during the Hollywood Week. Despite her aspirations, she stumbled during her performance of 'Million Reasons' by Lady Gaga, visibly nervous and ultimately forgetting the lyrics of the song.
During the episode, the ABC show contestant freaked out while comparing herself to other singers. Following her elimination, Amanda claimed, "I wasn’t ready." However, Amanda was not the only performer who forgot the lyrics. Isabella Mercier also struggled with remembering the words and admitted, "I overthought what I was saying."
However, Amanda's fans rallied behind her, asserting that she deserved another chance. Multiple viewers took to Reddit to express their support and admiration for the aspiring singer. A fan said, "I'm pretty sure she got cut. I like the huskiness and rasp in her voice."
Another Reddit user commented, "I'm 99% sure Amanda (the blue haired girl who messed up) is going home and it makes me sad as she's one of the few singers who actually intrigued me/I think there could be something unique and different there. Almost all the other singers I feel like I've seen carbon copies of them elsewhere on Idol."
Another person added, "Amanda went home :(." One fan wrote, "Thank you Amanda for all you have done - it's so tough with 142 other members of the Idol family, all as amazing as you are. I just want to reach out and give you all big hugs!!" "Still amazing to go as far as you did, and can always show your face again!! Keep rocking on 👏😁," said another fan.
