‘Big Brother’ Season 28: Who won Week 5 HOH after Lyric Medeiros’ eviction?
After the latest ‘Big Brother’ Season 28 elimination, which sent Lyric home, everyone has been eager to know about the upcoming Head of Household (HOH). After Lyric's eviction, the remaining houseguests participated in the HOH challenge. For Week 4, Haley Thogmartin was the HOH, who was exempted in the Week 5 HOH competition. Long-time fans surely enjoyed the latest spoilers, as live feeds revealed the latest challenge: the Endurance Battle, also called the Wall challenge. The competition required the participating houseguests to stand on a narrow ledge with their backs against the wall. However, it the platform tilts and shifts beneath them, while they have to perform various tasks, and deal with freezing water, slime, and more.
The goal is to outlast all the other contestants. The ones with higher endurance stay until the end, and ultimately, the last houseguest to hold on to the platform will earn the HOH title. After Lyric’s elimination, the live feeds featured the remaining 12 houseguests, including Angela Murray, Barrett, Chuk Anyanwu, Dee Valladares, Drew, Kamu Kirk, La Trice Verrett (aka Lala), Mallory Aurichio, Melody, Rick Devens, Taylor Brown, and Yash Patel participating in the HOH challenge.
At 9:50 p.m., when the feeds returned, viewers witnessed Angela already sitting beside Haley on the bench. She was the first one down. As Haley navigated the HOH competition, she was dressed as a park ranger, with Bigfoot wandering around. The backdrop for the challenge was from the Bluff Creek Ranger Station at Six Rivers National Forest. Notably, the remaining 11 houseguests were covered in blue paint, a tactic to get them off the platform and out of the competition.1
After 30 minutes in The Wall challenge, Taylor dropped, followed by Barrett Pfeiffer, Dee, Melody, Mallory, Chuk, Yash, and Drew. At 11:13 p.m., the feeds were cut off with Lala and Kamu being the remaining two houseguests, still competing against each other. Around 11:32 p.m., the feeds went live, revealing Lala as the HOH for Week 5. Previous HOHs until now were: Dee Valladares (Week 1), Rick Devens (Week 2), Kamu Kirk (Week 3), Haley Thogmartin (Week 4), and now La Trice Verrett (Week 5). Soon, things will get even more interesting as the recently appointed HOH will have to nominate three of her fellow houseguests.
