Last week's episode of 'Survivor 50' delivered twice the drama as Coach Wade and Chrissy Hofbeck were eliminated in a single vote-out. Chrissy was the runner-up of Season 35 titled 'Survivor: Heroes vs. Healers vs. Hustlers,' which aired in 2017 on CBS. However, her second run proved to be less successful as she was blindsided by the latest twist in the competition. At the start of the game, the 54-year-old was a part of the Kalo tribe, which also included Benjamin 'Coach' Wade, Jonathan Young, Dee Valladares, Kamilla Karthigesu, Charlie Davis, Tiffany Nicole Ervin, and Mike White. She formed an alliance with Wade and Young as they bonded over their 'old-school' gameplay. She also noted that "they were cut from the same cloth." Since Kalo won the immunity challenges in the first five episodes, Chrissy found herself safe from being targeted at the Tribal Council.

But in Episode 8 of 'Survivor 50,' which aired on April 15, host Jeff Probst asked the remaining 13 contestants to pair up. Chrissy went with Wade, the self-proclaimed Dragonslayer, unaware that her fate was tied to him. In her exit interview, Chrissy mentioned that the players were unaware that the pairs would be eliminated together until after they formed teams. Wade's unpopularity made him the next target, and Chrissy became collateral damage. In the high-stakes double elimination, Chrissy and Coach were eliminated almost unanimously, making them the 11th and 12th players voted out and the second and third members of the jury alongside Dee, who was voted out in Episode 7.

After her exit, Chrissy spoke to Sharon Tharp for The Exclusive and shed light on several aspects of the show, including why she wanted Rizo out of the game. She told Tharp that she believed Rizo was ungrateful, as he never thanked his fellow players for helping him when he fell sick right after the tribes were merged. She said, "His body was just like in really bad shape, and he was lying in the shelter just very sick. And there were a lot of us who were almost like came out of gameplay, right, to just really like help." "And I remember like lying next to him and just trying to talk to him and other people also. We were sort of taking turns trying to like take care of Rizo after he had a chance to see the doctor. He never said thank you to anyone," she added. Furthermore, Rizo, who had reached the top four in 'Survivor 49,' labeled himself "the man, the myth, the legend," earning the ire of his fellow contestants.

Chrissy was also unimpressed by his constant cursing and sense of grandiosity. She also revealed that during their first conversation, Rizo demanded that Chrissy trust him rather than work to win her loyalty. Hence, Chrissy decided to target him; however, she didn't have much support as her allies had set their sights on Devens. Elsewhere, Cirie was leading the charge against Coach and Chrissy. When Ozzy seemed unsure, Cirie reminded him that it was the best chance to kill two birds with one stone, "When you gonna get Chrissy and Coach at one time?" The 'old-school' alliance comprising Coach, Chrissy, Joe, Jonathan, and Stephenie headed to the Tribal Council to vote out Devens and Aubry. However, Devens turned the tables by pretending to use his fake idol to save himself from elimination, forcing the others to change their game plan at the last minute. The live Tribal Council then saw Coach and Chrissy being voted out 10-1-1, with Jonathan voting against Aubry, and Rick and Chrissy casting the lone vote against Emily and Rizo. Watch 'Survivor 50' at 8 p.m. ET on Wednesdays on CBS or stream it on Paramount+.
