LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Apple TV+ is getting ready to welcome the courtroom thriller 'Presumed Innocent' to its extensive library of diverse content.

Based on Scott Turow's novel of the same title, the narrative of the show follows Rusty Sabich (Jake Gyllenhaal). Rusty's apparently ordinary existence takes a dramatic turn when he is accused of the grisly murder of his colleague and secret lover, Carolyn Polhemus (Renate Reinsve).

In the miniseries, Jake Gyllenhaal assumes the role of a man under suspicion of killing. He plays reputable Chicago prosecutor Rusty Sabich, whose life drastically changes when he is named as the main suspect in a startling murder case.

Born into a Hollywood household on December 19, 1980, Gyllenhaal is a well-known American actor. His father, Stephen Gyllenhaal, is a film director; his sister, Maggie Gyllenhaal, is an actor; and his mother, Naomi Foner, is a screenwriter.

In 1991, he made his screen debut in 'City Slickers' and his breakthrough performance was in the critically acclaimed psychological thriller 'Donnie Darko' in 2001, which launched him into stardom.

His further professional credentials include 'Homegrown,' 'Donnie Darko,' 'October Sky', 'Love & Other Drugs', and 'Spider-Man: Far From Home' among others.

The actress Ruth Negga is expected to play Rusty's wife, Barbara Sabich. Barbara has to deal with the public attention, the possibility of her family life collapsing, and the persistent doubt about her husband's innocence when he is suspected of a killing.

Ruth Negga is well-known for her versatile acting skills and adaptability. She made her feature film debut in 2004 with the Irish film 'Capital Letters'.

In 2001, she made her breakout performance as the nuanced character Rosie Moynihan in the Irish murder drama series 'Love/Hate'. Ever since then, she has been picking challenging parts that highlight her range and depth as an actor.

In the show, Renate Reinsve plays Carolyn Polhemus; she is the slain coworker and covert lover at the center of the investigation.

After she passes away, a series of emotional and legal events occur, drawing Rusty into the center of a very consequential inquiry.

Born in 1987, Renate's first recognised acting role came in the 2011 film 'Oslo, August 31st'. She later won the Hedda Award for her portrayal in the stage production 'Besøk av gammel dame' in 2014 

Renate's breakthrough role came in 2021, when she secured the main part in Joachim Trier's highly acclaimed film 'The Worst Person in the World'.

Peter Sarsgaard will portray Tommy Molto, a deputy district attorney who has a tense relationship with Rusty.

Sarsgaard co-founded the improvisational comedy ensemble 'Mama's Pot Roast' in 1991 and started appearing in plays at Washington University in St. Louis, which is an offshoot of New York's Actors Studio.

His professional career began in the late 1990s, with 'Dead Man Walking' in 1995 and 'The Man in the Iron Mask' in 1998. He made his breakthrough in the highly acclaimed play 'Boys Don't Cry'.

His additional acting credentials are, 'Lovelace, Blue Jasmine', 'The Batman', 'The Magnificent Seven' and others.

In the show , Lily Rabe will portray Dr. Liz Rush. Although not much information is available about her character, it is reasonable to infer that she will play an important part in the drama.

Rabe is well-known for her performance on the FX horror series 'American Horror Story' and has also performed well in theatre in addition to television.

Her role as Portia in the Broadway version of 'The Merchant of Venice' garnered her a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Play.

Rabe has appeared in various shows, including 'Miss Stevens', 'Fractured', 'The Tender Bar', 'The Whispers', 'The Underground Railroad', and others.
