NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Samir Mezrahi is a social media influencer and created the social media page 'Zillow Gone Wild'. He originally hails from Tulsa, Oklahoma but moved to California for a few years where he gained his interest in homes.

Samir eventually returned to his home state where he pursued a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in accounting from the University of Oklahoma. According to his LinkedIn, he moved to New York City soon after completing his studies and started working as an accountant.

Samir later worked at Buzzfeed where he got the opportunity to use his passion for homes and architecture blended with his experience to create 'Zillow Gone Wild'. Samir lists unique, bizarre, and awe-inspiring homes on social media. He presents the properties with humor, wit, and irreverence that interests buyers.

However, HGTV took inspiration from Samir's 'Zillow Gone Wild' and would soon premiere a real estate series with the same name. According to HGTV, the upcoming show will feature non-traditional homes with their distinctive décor and imaginative architecture.

Samir Mezrahi reflects on creating 'Zillow Gone Wild'

'Zillow Gone Wild' creator Samir Mezrahi recently revealed how he started the real estate social media page. In an interview, Samir shared, "In the deep pandemic times, a lot of companies were telling their workers they could work from home, which meant more people were on their phones scrolling TikTok or Instagram."

Samir further shared that he loved to browse Zillow, and he thought a lot of people might also like to do that. He added, "When I decided to start the account, it completely took off from the start. Then, a few weeks later Saturday Night Live did a sketch on Zillow, which made me feel like I was really onto something."

Who is the host of HGTV's 'Zillow Gone Wild'?

Emmy-nominated actor and comedian Jack McBrayer will host HGTV's 'Zillow Gone Wild'. He will invite the viewers to join him on tours of outrageous, weirdest, wildest and wackiest homes that sellers have put on the market. Jack will also reveal inventive ways to market a unique property in the eight-episode series.

The HGTV show viewers will also be treated with each home's unique history and the exciting backstories of the buyers and sellers. The homes will also be ranked on a few criteria including their creativity, commitment to the theme and unique qualities.

However, HGTV has not introduced the original concept as the series is inspired by Samir Mizrahi's existing social media page. Additionally, the network has not revealed if Samir will appear in the upcoming show and his fans are disappointed with the HGTV host. Multiple critics took to the comment section of the upcoming real estate show's host announcement post and slammed the network.

A social media user commented, "Love Jack, but how do you not hire Samir for this? His brand of humor is what makes the account so successful." Another person added, "Okay but if samir isn’t a guest host I’m not watching." Another critic noted, "I’m sure he’s nice but why can’t samir be the host. Who else can explain potato sheds like him?"

Another internet user said, "How tf is samir not hosting this...." Another viewer wrote, "Pls tell me samir is involved though." Another follower penned, "Okay but is @samir gonna show us the potato sheds?? It’s not Zillow gone wild without him."
