RHOA Season 17 welcomes Porsha Williams' love interest Mike and his cheeky move leaves cast in splits
'The Real Housewives of Atlanta' Season 17 began with a bang. Several revelations came to light in the premiere episode, but none were as juicy as Porsha's newest love interest. The newest entrant of the season, K. Michelle, probed the veteran about her dating life. Porsha then hinted that her newest situationship might be present at the dinner party. "I do feel like I'm ready to start dating," she shared in a confessional. "I do feel like I deserve to be admired. I deserve to be courted. I deserve to be treated special. I got a little friend-friend, and why should I sit in the house and be bored?" Porsha was nervous about the meeting, as it had been a long time since she had introduced a special someone to the group.
As per his Instagram bio, Porsha's "friend-friend" Michael "Mike" Anthony is a producer, writer, and actor. Before joining the music industry, he served in the U.S. Special Forces, according to his official website. Originally from Akron, Ohio, he resides in Atlanta, Georgia, and has trained in Muay Thai, boxing, and other combat arts. He is also known for his roles in 'Raising Don', 'MacGyver', 'Dynasty', and 'Chicago Med'. As expected, Mike was grilled by the housewives. Porsha introduced him to several of her castmates, including K. Michelle, Angela Oakley, and Cynthia Bailey. K. Michelle was the first to come up with a question. She asked the newcomer how exactly he and Porsha met each other. Mike remained coy and shared that they met through God. Later, the couple sat at the head of the table. Porsha shared with everyone that she was still "nervous" around Mike, who added that this might be a good thing. Seeing the chemistry, Angela quipped that there might be "a serious relationship brewing in front of [their] eyes."
Porsha's sister, Lauren Williams, kept the spotlight on the couple and asked them about the timeline of their relationship. Porsha was a bit taken aback by the question and mentioned that they first laid eyes on each other just after the pandemic, but it did not turn into something until much later. "I ain't gonna lie: I threw out a thirst trap, and I knew it was gonna catch," she added. The other newbie, Pinky Cole, during the "Who Did That?" party game, asked the couple when they were last "intimate." Porsha replied, "Say, like, nine months?" Mike joked that nine months ago she "nailed and bailed," but she responded, "I ain't mad at it if we figure something else out." It is only recently that they have rekindled the relationship.
Lauren Williams, seeing the lovey-dovey couple, pointed out that there was an "altar right behind" them. Kelli and K. Michelle also joined in, encouraging the couple to take the next step. At one point, Mike also appeared to be going down on one knee, but stopped short, causing the cast to burst out laughing. While the group seems to adore the duo, Mike isn't the only one competing for the singer's heart. The trailer teased that she has another love interest, Patrice "Sway" McKinney, who will make an appearance in the next episode when it airs on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
