This time around, JJ was unable to make it into 'The Voice', but he did manage to give the coaches a heartfelt performance

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: JJ Higgins put his music career in wait to raise his baby, but he is now ready to follow his goals. He auditioned for 'The Voice' Season 25 singing Kenny Loggins' "Return to Pooh Corner" but received no chair turn from the coaches despite practically tearing them up with his story.

JJ did not get a shot on 'The Voice' this season, but he was able to play a heartfelt song for the coaches. "Just the experience of telling my story - that was all I needed," JJ informed the coaches.

He brought his child on stage, and the two embraced in an emotional moment. Shay Mooney cried after witnessing JJ hug his son. "I'm gonna cry," Chance the Rapper stated. "It's a performance we'll never forget," Reba McEntire admitted in a confessional.

JJ is 46 years old. He resides in Nashville and is married to Mia, his childhood sweetheart. They met when they were 12 and 15 years old, split up, and then reconnected later in life. Mia and JJ lost their baby shortly after his birth, but they were able to conceive their son, Jayce. JJ described Jayce as their 'miracle child.'

Fans were moved by JJ and his story, even if he did not win 'The Voice'. On X, fans wrote, "wtf turn!!" Another user chimed in, "The Voice just set up someone with one of the saddest backstories ever only to have no one turn for him. Jeez." 

Disappointed fans also tweeted, "Aw, man. No one turned for JJ." A fourth user wrote, "This dude really auditioned for #TheVoice singing Kenny Loggins. Respect."

One user asked, "How do you not turn around for "House At Pooh Corner"???" Another added, "He has a nice voice. I hate he didn't get a chair turn, but I understand why."
