ROSS-SHIRE, SCOTLAND: Peacock's reality TV hit, 'The Traitors', seized the spotlight in January 2023, earning swift renewal for a second season due to its Scotland-set strategic thrills hosted by Alan Cumming.

On December 14, the first Season 2 trailer and debut date were unveiled. Alan previewed "higher stakes" and "diabolical twists" in the second season, in which celebrities compete for the $250,000 top prize.

The eagerly awaited Season 2, premiering on January 12, 2024, on 6 pm PT and 9pm ET vows "higher stakes" and "diabolical twists", intensifying the rivalry among 21 reality stars from shows like 'Big Brother' and 'The Real Housewives'.

What is the format of 'The Traitors' Season 2?

Host Allan Cumming mentioned in the teaser that 'The Traitors' Season 2 is about 'Strategy, Betrayal, Sabotage and Murder'.

Set in the picturesque location of Andross Castle tucked in the Scottish Highlands, the cast goes on a mission to find who's the traitor and who's not.

A group of contestants (reality TV stars) will enter the Andross Scottish mansion, where one group will be called as "traitors". The survivors will be tagged "faithful".

Every week, the traitors will have the opportunity to "murder" one of their fellow players, eliminating them from the game. The remaining participants will then vote at the conclusion of each week to "banish" one of the other players in the aim of eliminating a traitor.

Along the process, the group will accrue a monetary reward pool through tasks. If the faithfuls have eliminated all the traitors by the end of the game, they will split the reward pool, but if a traitor remains, they will take the entire pot.
