Who is High Voltage? 'The Masked Singer' Season 14 'Care Bears Night' promo gives away a major clue
Among the other contestants on 'The Masked Singer' Season 14, High Voltage has been grabbing quite a lot of eyeballs. This story contains spoilers.
High Voltage has performed a thrice in the ongoing season, singing 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World' by Tears for Fears on 'Fear Night', 'Miles On It' by Kane Brown and Marshmellow on the 'Red, White & Clue Night', and 'Paranoid' by Black Sabbath on the memorable 'Ozzfest Night.' A recently released preview clip for the Fox show's upcoming 'Care Bears Night' dropped a hint about the true identity of High Voltage, and it is worth speculating.
There's no doubt about the fact that High Voltage has established itself as one of the top contenders of the ongoing season. During the Ozzfest Royale, he gave Eggplant a stiff competition while singing his rendition of the iconic 'Iron Man' by Black Sabbath. Furthermore, he advanced to the next round after defeating Eggplant, who was revealed to be the singer and actor Jack Wagner.
When it comes to guessing the real identity of High Voltage, the judges' panel on 'The Masked Singer' has mostly been shooting in the dark. While panelist Robin Thicke previously guessed him to be Conan O'Brien, Ken Jeong identified him as either Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong or John Stamos.
On the other hand, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg was under the impression that High Voltage is really either Jimmy Fallon or Julian Edelman behind the costume. Rita Ora guessed that High Voltage is actually Johnny Rzeznik, while guest panelist Kelly Osbourne named Tim Allen.
The recently released preview clip, however, upped the stakes and provided a vital clue that might lead the panelists to eventually figure out the true identity of High Voltage. In the Care Bears Night preview clip shared via Instagram, High Voltage declares, "The biggest clue has been right in front of your face."
Almost immediately, a soccer ball within the head of his mask drew attention to itself by flashing a blue light. Jeong marvelled at this, while McCarthy-Wahlberg exclaimed, "Wait, wait! His head is a soccer ball!" Although High Voltage's costume has featured the soccer ball ever since the first day of the ongoing season, the panelists hadn't previously picked it up as a clue. In light of this, it does seem likely that High Voltage might just be a famous soccer player.
In other news, the preview further revealed that Care Bears Night would feature performances from High Voltage, Crane, Pugcasso, and Pangolin. The clip teased their upcoming group performance of 'Walking On Sunshine' by Katrina and the Waves.
The Care Bears would appear, including Love-a-Lot Bear, Good Luck Bear, Cheer Bear, and Grumpy Bear. The panelists would also wear colourful outfits representing their favourite bears, with Jeong putting on a full Grumpy Bear jumpsuit. 'The Masked Singer' season fourteen airs new episodes on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
