HOUSTON, TEXAS: During "Supersized: Krystal S' Journey," 'My 600-Lb Life' Season 12 viewers got to see how Krystal S changed her diet and workout regimen to obtain acceptance for bariatric surgery. When Krystal first met Dr Younan Nowzaradan Now, she weighed 690 pounds and was engaged to Damian.

After a few months of following Dr Now's diet and exercise regimen and reducing her weight, she was cleared for bariatric surgery. Krystal and Damian married at her parents' house in Menan before moving to Houston, Texas, to have the surgery.

She weighed 549 pounds when she went in for surgery. Following the procedure, she was restricted to a liquid diet and lost 522 pounds.

"I’m back on solid foods now, and I’m feeling great. I’m able to get around better, and I’m trying to walk as much as I can," Krystal stated one month following the surgery, adding, "[it] makes a big difference in my day-to-day life." She also stated that she will begin physical therapy and psychotherapy soon.

Unfortunately, we couldn't discover Krystal's social media profiles to see what she's up to right now. However, she appeared to be driven to keep on course and continue reducing weight.

She was still in her wheelchair when she married Damian, so they couldn't have their first dance. However, Krystal expressed hope that they would be able to cross that first dance off their list before their first anniversary.

Overall, the chances of long-term success with weight loss surgery are fewer than 5%, but we're hoping Krystal will follow through. Dr Now indicated she should continue to drop 15 to 20 pounds every month after surgery.

Who is Krystal in 'My 600-Lb Life'?

Season 12 of TLC's 'My 600-lb Life', a reality TV series that chronicles the weight loss experiences of people suffering from obesity, debuted on March 6, 2024. The first episode of the season, titled "Supersized: Krystal S' Journey," introduced viewers to Krystal from Menan, Idaho.

Krystal has relied on food for comfort ever since she was a child. She weighed more than 200 pounds by the age of ten, and she got pregnant with her first child when she was 16.

Krystal's mother, Lorie, urged her to graduate high school, which she accomplished. However, Krystal, now in her late 30s, claims to have never found a vocation she is enthusiastic about.

When viewers first meet Krystal, she is back living with her parents for financial reasons. Her fiancé, Damian, and her two children, Rai and Faith, reside with them.

Krystal weighs 690 pounds and has difficulties getting around and performing daily duties alone. Even though she has been married twice before, she says she wants to postpone saying "I do" until she has made considerable success in her weight reduction quest because she does not want to burden Damian with full-time care.
