When will 'Pluribus' Episode 6 release? Fan theories abuzz after Carol's startling discovery
After a gripping 'Pluribus' episode 5, the hit show has left fans in feverish anticipation for episode 6. While the streamer surprised fans by dropping the fifth episode early, there will be a wait for episode 6 as it drops on December 5, 2025.
And while the wait continues, there have been multiple fan theories talking about Carol's startling discovery in the previous episode. Carol's investigation of the milk leads her to deduce that the fake product is made of water and what appears to be chalky white powder with an odd smell. To add, the barcode on the powder links it to the dog food bags from an Agri-Jet facility. Carol further investigates the mystery, only to find something horrific as the camera cuts to a close.
Some theories on social media platforms and discussion forms, such as Reddit, thought that Carol must have found the remains of humans and animals, with their bone broth used to make the fuel for the Hive. The pH and texture were further highlighted as the reasons why it was likely to be broth from dead bodies. Some believed it was a dead body or a known character who had an encounter with Carol at some point on the show.
Earlier, show creator Vince Gilligan shared his two cents on episode 5. "They love Carol, and nothing will shake that love,” Gilligan told Polygon. “Even when Carol blows up at them, they don't leave. But when Carol will not leave it alone, when she says, ‘There is a way to reverse this, I could tell, because you can't lie. I can tell by your silence that there's a way, because if there was a way, you would tell me, and if there wasn't a way, you would tell me,’ then everybody splits. I don't think they split out of fear, and I don't think there's necessarily anything nefarious about it.”
"I realized it's kind of like the most patient mom in the world instructing their little infant toddler,” Gilligan added. "They might say, ‘I hate you, mommy.’ But you don't take it seriously. It doesn't hurt your feelings. You know they're just acting out. They're a little kid. They kick you in the shins. It hurts a little, but at a certain point, for their own good, and for yours, maybe you give them a time-out.
"So I think they're just giving Carol a time-out. They do it in an over-the-top way: Half a million people leave town. They can't lay their hands on her. They would never lock her up. They love her too much. They can't do any of that, and they wouldn't want to if they could. But they can leave, so they do."
'Pluribus' episode 6 on December 5, 12 am ET, on Apple TV.
