‘Off Campus’ Season 1 locks release date as teaser reveals Hannah and Garrett’s chaotic first encounter
Amazon Prime Video has finally locked in a premiere date for its upcoming romance-heavy college series ‘Off Campus’. The entire first season drops on May 13, which means binge plans are set. Along with the date, the streamer also released a teaser and some early images that already have fans picking sides and choosing favorites. The show is adapted from Elle Kennedy's book series of the same name, with the first season drawing from ‘The Deal’. If you’ve read it, you already know that the book isn’t just about sports. It’s about messy feelings, late-night confessions, and the kind of chemistry that sneaks up on you when you least expect it.
The recently released teaser trailer shows Hannah going about her day on campus, attending classes, while Garrett hangs out with his friends. At one point, as Hannah is cleaning the hockey team's locker room, she accidentally sees Garrett having a shower. He stays confident and completely unbothered, but she’s visibly caught off guard and a little embarrassed. Meanwhile, the series leans into that classic opposites-attract setup. Hannah, played by Ella Bright, is more reserved, creative, and someone who keeps her world small and manageable. Garrett, on the other hand, who is brought to life by Belmont Camelli, is a star athlete who thrives under attention and pressure.
The official description of the TV series mentions that it follows “an elite ice hockey team, and the women in their lives, as they grapple with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery—forging deep friendships and enduring bonds while navigating the complexities that come with transitioning into adulthood.” The cast doesn’t stop with the leading duo. Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Josh Heuston, Stephen Kalyn, and Jalen Thomas Brooks round out the main lineup. They bring in more perspectives and probably more drama than anyone is ready for. Behind the scenes, the adaptation is handled by Louisa Levy, who serves as co-showrunner and executive producer, alongside Gina Fattore. The project also has Temple Hill backing it, with Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and James Seidman involved.
And here’s the kicker: the series has secured a Season 2 renewal even before the first season has premiered. That’s a big vote of confidence. It indicates the platform sees potential here, maybe even the kind that stretches beyond just one storyline or one couple. They’re betting on the long game, and viewers are eager to see what the show brings to the table when Season 1 releases on May 13.
