The penultimate episode of 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' just premiered on Amazon Prime Video and laid a strong foundation for an epic season finale. If last week's episode was all about the battle, this week's episode was about its aftermath. In 'Udun', we saw our heroes going against Adar and his army of Orcs. However, things got from bad to worse when someone from Adar's army used the Black Sword to open the floodgates, which helped in the eruption of Mount Doom.

The episode ends with large ash clouds approaching the Southlands. Tonight's episode saw the entire Southlands getting covered with red ash. Everything was destroyed and there were a lot of casualties. All the remaining living members, such as Elendil, Miriel, Bronwyn, Arondir, Theor, and Galadriel moved to a new location where they set up a temporary camp. Elendil is heartbroken because he couldn't find his son. Although Miriel, who lost her eyesight after the eruption of the volcano, promised Galadriel that she and the army of Numenor would return if evil rose again.

And it seems, evil has risen because the episode ended with a massive revelation that Balrog has woken up and is now ready to wreak havoc. Such an extraordinary ending has made everyone excited for the Season 1 finale and fans cannot wait for the final episode. So, when will the final episode air? Let's take a look.

When will 'The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power' Episode 8 premiere on Prime Video?

Over the course of six weeks, the Amazon fantasy series has enthralled viewers by releasing episodes on a weekly basis. The first two episodes premiered on Amazon Prime Video on September 2 and, week after week, the production company aired new episodes to keep the ball rolling. The finale will follow the same pattern and there won't be any change to the original schedule.

This means the finale of Season 1 will premiere exclusively on Friday, October 14th, at 12:01 am EST. Earlier, the finale was going to air on October 21, but the streaming service decided to release the first two episodes together, so that it doesn't clash with the finale or 'House of the Dragon'.

The preview released for the Season 1 finale promises to be filled with a lot of action and dramatic sequences. It will be interesting to see how Elrond will be able to save his tribe from the darkness. Meanwhile, a blast takes place inside one of the buildings in Numenor and it might hold great significance while moving forward.

Let's see how every major ends their season. Will a main character bite the dust?
