LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: There have been many unforgettable AI movies. MCU has some of the most popular among these. Filmmakers are coming forward to develop films based on the AI concept since it's the trending thing in this century. One such addition to that is 'Simulant' by April Mullen. The sci-fi thriller, which sees humans face off against AIs will have a VOD release on May 5.
'Simulant' follows a widowed woman after losing her husband, trying to find comfort in her husband's image created by android simulant or SIM. But unable to love that AI, she rejects him. To win her back, the AI goes to great lengths. The film shows that unrequited love in a SIM has far more dire consequences than is known to humans. What is the plot of 'Simulant'?
The official synopsis follows Faye, a widow who shifts to an android simulant or SIM that looks exactly like her husband in an effort to find comfort after his death. Unable to love him, she rejects the SIM, but it has already developed strong romantic feelings and sets on a mission to win her back. His exceptional ability to think and feel triggers a manhunt led by government agent Kessler, who oversees capturing potentially dangerous SIMs.
