LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Weeks before ‘Citadel’ made its debut on Amazon Prime Video, the streaming platform announced that they are planning to create a franchise that would grow its international audience, and it did not disappoint its subscribers. As soon as Season 1 ended, the streaming platform disclosed that the Citadel spyverse will be expanding with an Italian series, titled ‘Citadel: Diana’ starring Matilda De Angelis in the lead role.

The first look was shared right after the end of the final episode, where De Angelis was seen playing an agent in the ‘Citadel’ series. This end-credits teaser made it clear that the Italian series will also be filled with high-octane action sequences and a lot of twists and turns. The clip ends with a confirmation that ‘Citadel: Diana’ will be premiering exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in 2024.

The Italian actress is known for her impeccable performances in titles such as ‘Italian Race’, ‘Coco’, ‘Youtopia’, ‘Divine’, and ‘Rose Island’. However, she garnered worldwide recognition with her role in the HBO series ‘The Undoing’. De Angelis received a lot of praise for her acting in the series, which also starred Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant, Edgar Ramirez, Noah Jupe, and Lily Rabe in pivotal roles.

'Citadel: Diana' is being produced by Cattleya, one of Italy’s leading independent film and television production houses, which has also produced other widely popular series such as ‘Gomorrah’. The spin-off series was made and filmed in its entirety in Italy itself. Although the production was wrapped up earlier this year, the plot details are being kept under wraps and even the first look of the next chapter in the end-credits teaser didn’t give away any spoilers.
