The film isn't just about one man helping another; it is also about how John Kinley's severe trauma causes amnesia in a foreign country and all he can do is trust Ahmed and his own eyes to retrace his steps to safety. The exciting premise has guaranteed viewer interest, especially after the exhilarating trailer dropped. The movie also documents the relentless game of attrition with the Taliban, loss, grief, trauma, and everything else associated with the war in Afghanistan.
