‘The Masked Singer’ Season 14 Spoiler: A ‘Prince of Darkness’ tribute is coming and so is a familiar face
Season 14 of ‘The Masked Singer’ is cranking the volume up and tossing a little leather and heavy eyeliner into the mix with an upcoming ‘Ozzfest Night’. The themed episode will be a heartfelt salute to a man who practically rewrote the rules of metal music. Front and center, as always, is host Nick Cannon, holding it all together while the panel tries to guess who’s sweating it out under layers of foam and feathers. Returning judges are Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora.
The season has already rolled through theme nights that felt like a pop culture fever dream: ‘Fear Night’, ‘Clueless Night’, and there were episodes inspired by ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’, ‘Red, White & Clue’, and even ‘Twilight’. Up next on February 25 is ‘Spice Girls Night’, which is sure to have at least one judge shouting “Girl power” at full volume. After that, the schedule lists tributes tied to ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Care Bears’, because why not throw the entire TV guide into a blender? But then comes the one that’s likely to hit differently.
According to a FOX press release shared by The Futon Critic, ‘Ozzfest Night’ will honor the late Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22, 2025, at age 76. Ozzy first rose to fame as the frontman of ‘Black Sabbath’, a band that didn’t just play loud music but practically invented a darker, heavier sound that changed rock forever. After parting ways with the band, Ozzy launched a solo career in the 1980s and somehow managed to become even bigger, earning the nickname ‘Prince of Darkness’ along the way. He also co-founded Ozzfest with his wife and longtime manager, Sharon Osbourne. The touring festival ran annually from 1996 through 2010. And then there was television.
In the early 2000s, Ozzy showed up in living rooms across America in a completely different way through ‘The Osbournes’. The series followed Ozzy, Sharon, and their children Kelly and Jack as they bickered, laughed, and stumbled through everyday family life with cameras rolling. It ran from 2002 to 2005. ‘Ozzfest Night’ on ‘The Masked Singer’ is set to air Wednesday, March 4, at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, arriving just one week after ‘Spice Girls Night’. And it won’t just feature contestants belting out Ozzy’s songs while disguised as mythical creatures or sparkly desserts. The episode will also welcome a special guest panelist.
That would be Kelly Osbourne. Kelly, Ozzy’s daughter, is stepping in to help celebrate her father’s legacy and lend her ear to the guessing game. She’s no stranger to the show, either. Back in 2019, she competed in Season 2 as Ladybug and finished in ninth place. None of the regular panelists figured her out before she was unmasked. Moreover, Sharon previously made her own appearance as a guest panelist during Season 3. For viewers who grew up blasting ‘Black Sabbath’ in their cars or watching ‘The Osbournes’ after school, the night is likely to feel like a time capsule.
