‘Vikings’ Season 6 Episode 5: Fans wonder if Freydis is alive and has returned as Russian princess Katya
As we see Freydis appear as Katya, a Russian princess, fans start wondering if Freydis is actually alive and her identity is a ruse. Even Ivar is confused and tries to wrap his head around what he saw. It was almost like seeing an apparition. After all, he had strangled her with his bare hands. So, how could she come back in full flesh and blood, stand right in front of him as someone else. And also, she pretends not to know anything about ‘Freydis’.
Fans on Reddit have their own theories and speculate, just like us.
DoY0uKnowWh0Iam says, “How the F*** did Oleg knew that his brother was up to try to escape and has a conspiracy with Ivar against him????? And then the way he introduced that Princess Katya as his wife to Ivar... like he knew what is about with Ivars personal life with Freydis and what happen.. Jesus.. This man is really sooo smart and beyond that.. The definition of psychological trickery and manipulation."
ELT-1021 responds, “Yeah Oleg is sooo smart. I genuinely don’t understand the whole Freydis thing though. (I know who she is, what happened to her, etc)”

Isnt weird that after he found out about Dir and Ivars plan (yes he has little birds around) he introduced to Ivar this similar to Freydis girl... about to be Olegs wife??? Your eyes deceive you Ivar the Boneless... The Seer knew already what is happen now with Ivar and Oleg. Oleg is called the Prophet not for nothing.. i think.. He is onto something with Ivar and i cant wait to find out what is this.."
ELT-1021 agrees. He comments, “Potentially. I personally think Oleg is using her to mess with Ivar, as he is on to his plans to overthrow him.”
Anthraciter, has a specific take on Katya. “I’m split on Katya. On one hand, Freydis was the one who convinced Ivar he was a god, then betrayed him and died for it. Could she be a goddess who steered events so Ivar would go into exile and into the world of the Rus then reappear to direct him further toward his fate? Or is she just some lookalike that doesn’t exactly know what’s going on but is smart enough to play dumb? All we can do is come and see, come and see the next of the episeeds."
Now, whether these theories and speculations would turn out to be true or not is something that we have to wait and watch.
