‘Vikings’ Season 6 Episode 7: Fans rave about Katheryn Winnick’s performance as Lagertha bids farewell

'The Ice Maiden' was perhaps one of the most visually stunning episodes so far in 'Vikings'. After five-and-a-half successful seasons and power-packed performance, Katheryn Winnick says goodbye to the leading female character of ‘Vikings’ and a historical icon.
Coupled with the spectacular funeral of Lagertha, the scenes towards the end, made the episode more impactful. When combined together, two of the latest episodes made for the most outstanding experience in this season. Like us, fans also cannot stop raving about how they felt about the episode.
One fan was all heart about Winnick and in awe of her acting. She says, “Beautiful send off and series performance, well done @KatherynWinnick & @HISTORY. Long live #Lagertha - Mother of Norway, fearless shield maiden, and probably the most, badass female character ever. #Vikings6 #vikingsseason6 #ragnar #valhalla #home #kattegat (sic)”
Another fan was floored by the entire episode. She says, “@HistoryVikings exceptional episode - thank you! It’s exactly how it should have been! #Vikings6”
Many fans became emotional after Lagertha’s death last week. And the mood continued this week, especially with the ending scenes. One fan comments, “Honestly that last scene really hit me. When she was falling to bottom of the ocean and landed with Ragnar. I don’t want to say goodbye. I know I have to but I can’t. We love you and miss you lagertha #lagertha #vikings #Vikings6. (sic)”
The episode is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. Like one user says, “#Vikings6. Fabulous beautiful heartbreaking. I won’t forget tonight’s episode. Lagertha with Ragnor forever. That’s how I hoped it would ended for her. Perfect.”
“#Vikings is certainly hitting it's stride for the final season. The last two episodes may have been the best of the series. Tonight was just wow. Beautiful. #vikingsseason6 #Vikings6”, says another fan. And we couldn’t agree more.
Keep watching the final season of ‘Vikings’ every Wednesday, 10 pm/9c, only on History channel.
