Andrew Garfield has had a tremendous year, but he isn’t slowing down yet. He will now star opposite Daisy Edgar-Jones in the FX on Hulu series about a Latter-day Saint detective whose faith is put to the test by a double murder. The seven-episode limited series, ‘Under the Banner of Heaven’, will stream exclusively on Hulu beginning with two episodes on Thursday, April 28. The series is inspired by the true-crime bestseller of the same name by author Jon Krakauer.

Created by Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black, the true-crime thriller series 'Under the Banner of Heaven’ follows the events that led to the 1984 murder of Brenda Wright Lafferty (Edgar-Jones) and her baby daughter in a suburb in Salt Lake Valley, Utah. The miniseries tells the story through the eyes of Garfield’s character, detective Jeb Pyre, who is a devout Mormon. “After so many years of work, I’m incredibly grateful to Imagine and FX for their patience with and commitment to bringing this story to the screen,” said Black. “Raised in the LDS faith, my hope is that this true-crime thriller might shed light on the horrific brutalities perpetrated in the name of God in our own backyards.”
