FX 'Snowfall' Season 6: 5 things you need to know about final season of the crime drama
Franklin Saint will return for a final season with 'Snowfall' Season 6. The Damson Idris-starrer was renewed for what will be its final season on FX even as Season 5 is currently airing on TV. It does make sense considering the riveting cast and compelling storyline that it has constantly brought to the table since Season 1. The critically-acclaimed show is set in 1983 Los Angeles during the early days of the crack-cocaine epidemic and several characters' stories cross with one another. The latest season sees a time jump and is set in 1986.
“FX first partnered with legendary writer/director John Singleton and the rest of the creative team six years ago to pursue their vision for an ambitious, powerful drama about the explosion of the crack epidemic of the early 80s,” said Nick Grad, President of Original Programming at FX, in a statement that accompanied the announcement. "Today, as the fifth season of Snowfall reaches new heights of acclaim and viewership, there is no question that this series has become an FX classic drama. We are thrilled to order a sixth season that will enable Dave Andron, Walter Mosley, and the rest of the producers to bring Snowfall to a climactic finale showcasing the brilliance of everyone involved, from the stellar cast led by Damson Idris to the writers, directors, artists, and crew.”

Very rarely does a TV show get to the sixth season mark and saying goodbye to ‘Franklin Saint’ will be heartbreaking. But the family and relationships I’ve made on this journey will last a lifetime. I know John Singleton is looking down smiling proud."

When will 'Snowfall' Season 6 release?
There is no official premiere date announced at the moment, but with episodes left in season 5 (Eight of them have aired at the time of writing), the show will go on floors for production and we can expect Season 6 to air early 2023. The ongoing season premiered in February, so it is possible that FX may be targeting a similar release date.
Who's in the cast of 'Snowfall' Season 6?
Safe to say, that things aren't exactly going the Saints way, and we may see some casualties by the end of Season 5. But until then, the general expectation is to see the major characters reprise their roles. The series stars Damson Idris as drug kingpin Frank Saint alongside Emily Rios, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Michael Hyatt, Amin Joseph, Alon Aboutboul, Carter Hudson, Kevin Carroll, Angela Lewis, and Isaiah John.
What will Season 6 be all about?
The official synopsis of Season 5 Episode 10 titled, 'Fault Lines' has a rather vague, but series-defining synopsis. It reads, "Franklin is decimated; Teddy moves to secure his future; the family fractures." For now, speculations are rife that the Saints may have chosen their paths essentially culminating in what the official storyline of the present season was — the death of the Saints clan. The greed, the unrest and the lack of faith meant the ground beneath their feet was crumbling, and now it seems to have run its course.
