TXT may have debuted in 2019 but they’re competing with legends and veterans in the global music industry and are more than capable of holding their own. In fact, their debut album had topped the Gaon Album chart and entered several Billboard charts. Their latest releases made waves even in Japan as TXT became the only foreign act following BTS to have five albums top on Japan’s Oricon Weekly Album Chart. Their impact was evident with them being the only K-pop act to win ‘Men of the Year - Pop Icon’ award at GQ Japan. And now they have also secured a spot in Rolling Stone history.

2021 is a good year for TXT as they also were the only fourth-gen act to be nominated at the American award show, the 2021 People’s Choice Awards. Their album ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze' became the longest-charting 2021 K-pop album on Billboard. And TXT is continuing to prove their impact by the results of the year-ends lists and charts from the likes of Spotify, Billboard and Rolling Stone. It was reported that TXT was the second fourth-gen K-pop act in the top 5 of Spotify's most-streamed K-pop artists globally in 2021.

TXT the only K-pop act on Rolling Stone

Fans also pointed out that TXT was the second fourth-gen act whose song was in the top 30 of the most-streamed K-pop songs for 2021 on Spotify. TXT were the only fourth-gen act that was on six Billboard year-end charts of 2021 and the only boy group following BTS on the Billboard 200 year-end chart of 2021. And on December 3, it looks like TXT had also beaten their labelmates, the global K-pop group BTS to be mentioned on a Rolling Stone’s year-end list. TXT’s album ‘The Chaos Chapter: Fight Or Escape’ had been mentioned on the Top 50 Albums of 2021 by Rolling Stone.

TXT’s album ranked at #46 and the reason that Rolling Stone gave was, “This ascendant South Korean boy band elevated their sound and image this year...that showcases the group’s impressive vocal and emotional range.” Along with them, the list includes the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Adele, Lil Nas X and Halsey. What is more impressive is that TXT is the only K-pop act on the list which has led fans to celebrate the moment.

‘Definitely a masterpiece’

One MOA flexed, “OMG!! Those ranking makes MOA ego skyrocketed.” Another fan tweeted, “TXT ARE LEGENDS.” One added, “Rolling Stone released their top 50 best albums for 2021 and txt is the only korean artist in the list!!
