TXT 'The Chaos Chapter: Freeze' becomes Billboard’s longest-charting 2021 K-pop album
TXT’s second studio album ‘The Chaos Chapter: Freeze’ may have been released in May 2021, but it continues to break records and make history. The album was a commercial hit as it became a triple Platinum seller with over 835k sales in South Korea alone. Japan’s RIAJ then awarded it a gold sales certificate for over 178k sales. The title track ‘0x1=Lovesong (I Know I Love You)’ won at four music shows. The album also topped charts domestically and globally like Gaon Album Chart, Japan’s Oricon Chart, iTunes and Billboard.
In fact, TXT has pleasantly surprised everyone with the ‘Freeze’ album constantly charting on Billboard since its release. The album hasn’t left the chart system since May, having always stayed on one of their charts. As for this week, ‘Freeze’ has reached a peak of #2 on Billboard’s Tastemaker Albums Chart for the 12th week. Not only that, the album has spent 20 weeks straight on Billboard’s World Albums Chart and Top Current Album Sales Chart. This makes it the longest-charting album by a K-pop act on Billboard in 2021.

‘Freeze’ on Billboard for 20 weeks straight
It should be noted that the album has more or less dominated Billboard since its release. ‘Freeze’ peaked at #5 on Billboard 200 and first grabbed the record of the longest-charting K-pop album of the year by staying on the chart for 13 weeks in a row. As for the Top Current Album Sales chart and the World Albums chart that it has been ruling for 20 weeks, TXT’s album had peaked at #1 on both charts. This also makes them the first fourth-gen boy group to reach these milestones. The album had also peaked at #1 on the Top Albums Sales chart and had been on it for 19 weeks straight till last week.
