TWICE's Dahyun the next K-pop idol at NYFW SS 2023 for Michael Kors, fans say 'slay'

Several K-pop idols like NCT Dream's Jeno, Red Velvet's Seulgi, and iKON's DK are invited to New York Fashion Week SS 2023

NEW YORK, USA: It looks like K-pop is indeed taking over the fashion industry. And with idols starting fashion trends that immediately take over the globe, it was only a matter of time before they were acknowledged by the fashion world. TWICE's Dahyun has become the next K-pop idol to be invited to the New York Fashion Week for Michael Kors Spring/Summer 2023 show. 

Many were impressed when we first had NCT Dream's Jeno opening for Peter Do along with two SM Rookies 2022 members. Red Velvet's Seulgi was also invited as a front row guest by Peter Do. Next, we had iKON's DK also ready to walk the ramp for Ulkin's event at NYFW. While it was rumored that Dahyun would attend Michael Kors' show, the TWICE star herself accidentally confirmed it on chat.

TWICE's Dahyun confirms NYFW

On September 12, Korean paparazzi claimed that TWICE's Dahyun would be flying from Incheon Airport to New York City in the afternoon. She will be attending Michael Kors' S/S 2023 event. ONCE (TWICE's fandom) immediately spammed the Bubble messaging app asking if it was true. Dahyun replied "Lol. How do you know I'm going to New York? I'll be back safely!!"

Dahyun is the first TWICE star to be invited to a fashion week. In the last few editions like that of Paris Fashion Week, we have had the likes of Blackpink, GOT7's Mark Tuan and more being a regular. Ulkin had also roped in Pentagon members as its runway models while Peter Do had styled NCT 127's Johnny at the Met Gala 2022.

'We all cheered'

A fan tweeted, "CONGRATULATIONS TO DAHYUN FOR BEING THE FIRST TWICE MEMBER TO ATTEND THE NEW YORK FASHION WEEK." Another ONCE shared, "And if Dahyun shows up with something elegantly simple like this? It’s OVER." One fan added, "One thing is for sure, dahyun will slay fashion week with ease." Another said, "Sooo happy to know that dahyun is going overseas to attend new york fashion show week. you'll slaaayy there dahyun and have a safe flight!"

A ONCE commented, "A TWICE member attending fashion week is a milestone as it’s a first for them!! AND IT’S DAHYUN SO HAPPY RN." Another fan posted, "DAHYUN AT NEW YORK FASHION WEEK… WE ALL CHEERED." One fan tweeted, "Dahyun being the FIRST twice member out of 8 women to attend one of the biggest fashion weeks in person and not an online fashion event is insane they chose her to be the face of the group at this event SPEAK NICELY TO HER."
