‘Treadstone’ Episode 7 ‘The Paradox Andropov’ ends with Doug McKenna presumably dead

Spoilers ahead for 'Treadstone' episode 7 titled 'The Paradox Andropov'

'Treadstone' Episode 7 ended on a shocking note when a house Doug McKenna (Brian J Smith) entered burst into flames. The episode started with Doug hurrying to embrace his wife Sam (Tess Haubrich) after facing some nefarious agents trying to take him back to a facility where he could be reprogrammed.

He escaped and in the process learned the same agents were targetting a mining geologist Marcus Sachs and his wife. Initially, Doug is happy to have reunited with Sam because he was worried the CIA agents would get to her before he could warn her.

However, he needn't have worried. Sam was ready to leave at a moment's notice. She had dyed her hair, changed her appearance and bought a get-away vehicle that couldn't be tracked; at least not yet.

She has guns at the ready and this familiarity that Sam has with coming up with plans leaves him taken aback. For now, though, he goes along with her plan. He has only one condition, and that is to save Sachs and his wife.

Sachs' residence is located a few hours from where Sam and Doug are at the moment. So they drive over in an attempt to warn Sachs about the impending attack. On the way, Sam and Doug also try to find why Sachs was being targeted by the CIA.

They do not see a connection between Doug's previous targets and Sachs at first glance and this confuses Sam. She is aware of the kind of individuals the CIA targets and this, she tells Doug, is very unlike the CIA. That is when the first alarm should have gone off, but somehow neither Sam nor Doug expected what happened next.

Doug and Sam arrived at the residence and Doug told Sam to keep the car running while he went ahead and checked out Sachs' residence and if possible, help them escape. Sam is hesitant. She wants to ensure Doug doesn't get involved in something dangerous, but she lets him go.

Turns out this was not a good decision after all. Doug enters Sachs' house and in seconds the house goes up in flames. Turns out the Sach's residence was bombed and along with Sachs and his wife, Doug may have just ended up dead as well.

The end of episode scene where we see the bombing happen doesn't definitely mean Doug is dead, but the chances are high. Unlike SoYun (Han Hyo-joo), who was shot and managed to escape after getting treatment for a bullet wound, Doug's chances at escaping are low.

The upcoming episode of 'Treadstone' will be aired on Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET on the USA Network.
