‘Too Hot To Handle’ Season 4: Jawahir Khalifa and Nick Kici win $84K cash prize in surprise twist
Spoilers for ‘Too Hot To Handle’ Season 4
PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS: For most ‘Too Hot To Handle’ contestants, not touching each other is almost inconceivable. As a result, participants are constantly fined, causing a significant reduction in the grand prize money. In Season 4 of the show, the scenario wasn't all that different from previous seasons when it came to rule-breaking.
From Sebastian “Seb” Melrose’s and Kayla Richart’s intimate act, which cost the group a whopping $50K fine, to Nick Kici and Jawahir Khalifa piling up several penalties by (not so) discreetly engaging in sensual activities under blankets and in the dark, the prize money amount dropped significantly. But during a trust test by Lana, Flavia Urbina’s perseverance added a surprise $10K cash to the reward. By the end of the retreat, the group was left with $89K of the original $200K. Less than half of what they had begun with, but still, it was a hefty amount that the contestants were dedicated to winning. But what was surprising was that Jawahir was the winner of Season 4 along with Nick.

From the beginning, Jawahir had been quite indecisive over who she wanted to pursue and broke the no-kissing, heavy petting, intercourse, or solo gratification rule multiple times. She was first caught kissing Seb and later kissing Nick the same night. Jawahir was also considered one of the group’s naughtiest contestant after her constant escapades. Co-star Dominique Defoe even dubbed her a “naughty little minx.” But Jawahir soon struck up a meaningful relationship with Nick while trying hard (and failing) to control her urges around him. At one point, the pair even had to suffer the punishment of spending the night in "the suite" because of Jawahir’s propensity to get physical. But Nick and Jawahir made it through the night, albeit after a few “almosts,” and earned their 'couple' watches.
But things were soon heading south for the couple after new entrant Shawn showed interest in the Dutch-Somalian model. According to Shawn, he loved a “Black Queen,” and Jawahir also fit the description of his ideal woman. As soon as Shawn entered the retreat, Jawahir was all 'heart eyes' for the well-built contestant. She even let him massage her legs and flirted with him, making Nick insecure about their relationship. But her inconsistent affections and her repeated pattern of putting physical chemistry over emotional closeness, made the ‘Too Hot To Handle’ virtual assistant Lana doubt her intentions on the show and so Lana decided to put her to the test.
Lana then gave Jawahir an option to pick just one of them as they both awaited her arrival on separate dates. Ultimately, Jawahir finally followed her heart and picked Nick, despite being attracted to Shawn. Her maturity and the couple's communication skills earned them a green light on their watches, indicating they had found a meaningful connection during the retreat. The endearing journey caused them to be nominated alongside Seb and Kayla as the finalists for the prize money. While nominating the pair, Lana noted that the two had "empowered each other to change." The couple had opened up to one another, faced several trials and tribulations, and shown significant progress during the many workshops, which caused Lana to deem them worthy finalists.
But the final decision lay in the hands of their peers, tasked to pick between the two couples. While there was a lot of pressure faced by their fellow guests to pick a winner, considering both couples had faced many trials and passed several tests to earn their spot as top contenders. The winner was decided based on the final votes after what felt like forever in terms of the suspense. Lana finally revealed Nick and Jawahir as the winner by six votes. It was an emotional moment as several of their fellow contestants, including Shawn, revealed their support, and Lana stated that the retreat was officially over.
The second installment of ‘Too Hot To Handle’ Season 4 dropped on Wednesday, December 14, on Netflix.
