LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The fans of 'The Bear' on Netflix were left disappointed when the show was snubbed at the Primetime Emmy Award 2024, particularly in the comedic category. Many believed that the show did not deserve the win in the category, questioning its merit in comparison to other comedic contenders.

Criticisms were aimed at the perceived lack of humor, with viewers asserting that other comedic shows were more deserving of recognition. The disappointment was palpable, as fans had expected a more laughter-inducing performance from a show nominated in the comedy genre.

Several fans expressed their strong opinions, asserting that 'Abbott Elementary' was far more deserving of winning in the comedy category than 'The Bear'. The sentiment extended to individual performances, with many believing that James Fransco was highly deserving of winning the Best Comedy Actor award.

"As a comedy writer, it hurts to feel like I’m watching the death of comedy… like the bear is a phenomenal show but it is not a comedy. It is a drama, that has funny moments," noted one fan on X. 

"Poor comedy sitcoms. Losing to a Drama in comedy categories," added one. 

"Still pretending The Bear is a comedy, I see…," added another. 

"The category fraud of The Bear being considered a Comedy and thus winning awards that should go to comedic performances is making me embittered towards a show I loved," commented one.
