Amazon Prime Video's 'The Wheel of Time' is finally here within the much-awaited season finale but it didn't have the impact that was expected. The fantasy series which has been adapted from books of the same name has been appreciated by casual viewers but readers have time and again pointed out flaws in the storytelling.

'The Wheel of Time', although brilliant, may have lacked in its story with the explosive finale receiving a lukewarm response to how it played out. The finale played out multiple plots all at once which the one hour-long episode didn't explain thoroughly which left many confused. So read on to know a bit of what happened in 'The Wheel of Time' and how fans reacted to it.

'The Wheel of Time' Episode 8: Has Moiraine lost her powers for good?

'The Wheel of Time' finale had quite a lot going for it initially. From Rand (Josha Stradowkski) and Moiraine (Rosamund Pike) at the Eye of the World, Egwene(Madeleine Madden ) and Nynaeve(Zoë Robins ) burning out from Chanelling to Perrin (Marcus Rutherford) choking and being unable to fight the eighth episode, there was a lot of drama. Additional storylines included the battle at Fal Dara and the appearance of the Dark One (Fares Fares) who was apparently defeated by Rand. Even though the last episode was filled to the brim with action, a lot of these happenings didn't make sense to viewers. The fast-paced developments with no explanation or backstory left many fans confused which left them disappointed.

A lot of the viewers have read the original books and the season finale had them calling it 'horrible' for the way the different storylines were adapted. They called out the maker of the series for poor writing and said it wasn't the story they knew. Although some of them went soft and optimistically hoped for a better Season 2, the majority didn't mince their words and criticized the finale. Here's what they said.

A fan commented, "I'm not quite sure what I just watched, but it wasn't the wheel time. Sad. Disappointed. Confused. Why was the source material thrown away? #TheWheelOfTime" while another said, "@rafejudkins #TheWheelOfTime just finished watching episode 8. I gotta say you need to name this series something else. You took the books and created an abomination of an amazing story. Good god man. Did you even read a single book or page one of the Cliff Notes? Horrendous.". A tweet read, "I don't know how to feel about this first season. really weird changes right now, the characters are a 10/10, the writing is a 5/10 #TheWheelOfTime".

Another viewer commented, "Been trying to tweet my thoughts for like 10 minutes now and it's tough.. Loving SO many aspects of the episode... but the reader in me doesn't know what to think about the implications of some of the changes... Wish I was a non-reader fan right now... #TheWheelOfTime", while another said, "I am sorta glad we have a while until Season 2 of #TheWheelOfTime because I think we need a few months to breakdown S1 and that #WoTFinale first lol". Yet another tweet read, "So yeah.. the @TheWheelOfTimeS1 finale was confusing and not so good. It’s a shame when a great series has a disappointing end to the season. I look forward to S2 of #TheWheelOfTime and hopefully it gets better.".
