When does ‘The Waltons’ Homecoming release and where can you watch it
The family drama will be premiering exclusively on The CW on Sunday, November 28. According to the network, the movie will be airing at 8 pm EST. Viewers can download The CW app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Apart from that, The CW is also available on devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Vizio Smart TV, Chromecast, Android TV, AirPlay, Apple TV, and Xbox One.
What is ‘The Waltons’ Homecoming’ all about
“The movie is in the 1933 Depression Era and told through the eyes of John Boy (Shroyer), the 17-year-old eldest child of John (Lawson) and Olivia Walton (Young). His mother expects John-Boy to help her raise his sisters and brothers and his father expects him to follow in his footsteps to help support the family, but secretly, John Boy wants to be a writer. Times are hard enough in 1933, but to make matters worse, it looked to be the Waltons’ first Christmas without John Sr. When Olivia receives a letter that John Sr. is planning to make it home for Christmas after all, the family is thrilled and races to prepare for his homecoming. But when a storm threatens his arrival on Christmas Eve, and John Sr. is nowhere to be found, Olivia sends John Boy out into the night to find his daddy – a journey that will change John Boy’s life forever.”
Who stars in The CW’s drama
Veteran actor Richard Thomas, who played John Boy in the original series, will be the narrator this time around and Logan Shroyer will be portraying the character of John Boy in the TV movie. Meanwhile, Ben Lawson will be playing the role of John Walton Sr.
Richard Thomas
Born in 1951, Richard Thomas is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors and has given numerous stellar performances in a career that spans over six decades. He made his debut in 1959 and went on to make his feature film debut with ‘Winning’ (1969). Thomas became internationally recognized for his portrayal of John "John-Boy" Walton, Jr., in the 1970s ‘The Waltons’. Thomas won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Dramatic Series in 1973.
Since then, he has been a part of projects such as ‘Fifth of July’, ‘Final Jeopardy’, ‘A Walton Wedding’, ‘The Americans’, ‘Billions’ and ‘Tell Me Your Secrets’.
The rest of the cast includes Marcelle LeBlanc as Mary Ellen Walton, Adam Boyer as Charlie Sneed, Charles Green as Ike Godsey, and Christian Finlayson as Jason Walton.

The film is being helmed by Lev L. Spiro while it is being penned by Earl Hammer Jr. and Jim Strain. On the other hand, notable personalities like Sam Haskell, Hudson Hickman, Bobby Kelly, and Jim Strain serve as executive producers.
