In the Dark’ has been immensely successful for The CW and it looks like the network has decided to give fans what they want: another season. The highly popular show is coming back with Season 3 and viewers cannot wait to see what’s in store for them.

The show chronicles the journey of a young, blind woman named Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld) drifting through her life in a drunken haze. However, her life turns upside down when she stumbles upon the corpse of one of her close friends, Tyson Parker (Thamela Mpumlwana). However, the body disappears before the police arrive. While the law enforcement authority do not look inclined to investigate the case, Murphy takes the matter into her own hands and tries to figure out what happened to her friend.

Season 1 turned out to be a great success story for the network while the second season also lived up to everyone’s expectations. Season 2 ended with Josh (Theodore Bhat) getting to know that Murphy and her friends were involved with Nia Bailey (Nicki Micheaux). The final episode ended with Murphy and Jess (Brooke Markham) ditching Josh in their apartment and making a call to Max Parish (Casey Deidrick).

Fans would surely be hoping for another great season and they will be excited to see their favorite characters back on the small screen. Here’s everything we know about ‘In the Dark’ Season 3.

Release date

Season 3 of ‘In the Dark’ will premiere exclusively on The CW on Wednesday, June 24.

Air time and how to live stream

The first episode of Season 3 will air on The CW on June 24 at 9 pm EST. Viewers can download The CW app from Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store. Apart from that, The CW is also available on devices such as Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Vizio Smart TV, Chromecast, Android TV, AirPlay, Apple TV and Xbox One.

Plot

With Dean Riley (Rich Sommer) and Nia dead, the show has an open road ahead of its upcoming season. However, that doesn’t mean that problems for Murphy and her friends have come to an end. The group is surely going to have a lot of obstacles in its way. Officer Gene Clemens (Matt Murray) and Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz) are skeptical about the weird things that have been happening around Murphy.

Cast

Apart from the characters who died in Season 2, all the major characters are returning for the upcoming season. According to a cast list uploaded on The CW website, Perry Mattfeld will reprise her role as Murphy Mason in Season 3 while Morgan Krantz will be back as Felix Bell.

On the other hand, Brooke Markham will be portraying the character of Jess and Keston John will reprise the role of Darnell James. Theodore Bhat (Josh), Matt Murray (Officer Gene Clemens), and Casey Deidrick (Max Parish) will also return for Season 3.

Creators

The show is created and co-written by Corinne Kingsbury. Kingsbury is known for working on shows such as ‘The Newsroom’, ‘Back in the Game’ and ‘Fam’. Kingsbury also serves as an executive producer on the show alongside Ben Stiller, Jackie Cohn, Michael Showalter, Nicky Weinstock, John Weber, Frank Siracusa and Andrea Raffaghello.

The trailer sees Perry and the gang on the run and trying to save themselves from the wrath of the law enforcement agency. Meanwhile, Josh is willing to do anything and everything to catch Perry and the entire group. You can watch the trailer here.
