LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the latest episode of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live,' Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) persists in his efforts to safeguard Michonne from the CRM while simultaneously plotting her escape.

Michonne's (Danai Gurira) remarkable skills have marked her as an 'A,' while also drawing the attention of Major General Beale (Terry O'Quinn).

Even Pearl Thorne (Lesley-Ann Brandt), who initially backed Michonne on Rick's request, now perceives her as a potential liability, fearing she may disrupt Thorne's own ambitions for success within the CRM.

After being promoting to Command Sergeant Major, Pearl Thorne is assigned her first mission of safeguarding Cascadia. The area is breached by a horde of 200-plus delts and Pearl's squad (involving Rick and Michonne) has to clear the dead ahead of the big summit of all CRM brass.

The strategy involves a soldier transporting the R-DIM, a bomb with a siren, through the breach. A flyby will deploy charges to create a dispersing sound.

The Frontliners lead the charge, with Rick and Pearl covering the rear. Michonne's role is to keep the no-kills near the frontline.

When Thorne struggles to push the R-DIM through the herd, Michonne takes charge. With Rick's help, she rams through the delts. Michonne's action angers Pearl.

As Michonne dispatches remaining walkers with her killstick, she remains unaware of Pearl aiming her gun at her, but Rick notices.

In a selfless act, Rick positions himself in Thorne's line of fire, shielding Michonne.

Later that evening, Pearl justifies her actions by citing Consignee Bethune's breach of protocol, which consequently led Rick to follow suit.

She says that they failed to follow the chain of command and orders Michonne/Dana to be sent back to Harvest Point while mentioning that she doesn't want to see her ever again.

Nevertheless, Pearl extends leniency towards Rick, acknowledging his role in neutralizing the large delts threat.

She then instructs Rick to report to Beale for a briefing, hinting at his promotion within the organization.

Three episodes of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live' are available to stream on AMC+.
