LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) continue to face mounting challenges in the latest episode of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live'.
After exploring their individual lives following the bridge explosion in first two episodes, they are now both united in a complex world where their true relationship must not be unknown and escaping isn't an option.
While Michonne disguses as Dana Bethune to conceal her identity, Rick vigilantly safeguards her without letting the CRM know about their history.
Rick Grimes plans an escape for Michonne in 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live'
Following Donald Okafor's (Craig Tate) memorial service, Major General Beale (Terry O'Quinn) promotes Pearl Thorne (Lesley-Ann Brandt) to Command Sergeant Major.
Thorne, in turn, tasks Rick with overseeing logistics at Cascadia Forward Operating Base.
During their conversation, Thorne reveals that Dana Bethune, aka Michonne, is on Beale's radar, and he's been inquiring about her. She warns Rick that she is moving up the power ladder and can't have Dana pull her down.
Upon learning this, Rick panics and makes an escape plan for Michonne. He places her sword and a note in a locker, guiding her to a canoe by the river.
Downstream, he has arranged a fabricated scene, complete with a CRM uniform-clad fake corpse, intending to stage Michonne's deatg as a result of a tragic accident while attempting to escape.
The plan involves creating the illusion that Michonne fell, struck her head on the rocks, and succumbed to walkers.
Does Michonne manages to escape in 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live'?
Upon reaching the canoe, Michonne discovers a note left by Rick in which he mentions that he won't be joining her, emphasizing that if she stays, they both face dire consequences and neither will escape.
He further explains that his staying behind is the only way he can guarantee her safety and adds, "If you love me, you'll go."
The next morning, Rick is convinced that Michonne is gone. He approaches Jadis Stokes (Pollyanna McIntosh) and asks her to take over the investigation as soon as CRM finds out that Michonne is missing.
However, he gets shocked when he sees that Michonne hasn't left and has decided to stay back.
Michonne is convinced that Rick is now drawn in by the ambition and hope of this place but changes her opinion on her visit to the city when she sees the her portraitures at an art shop.
As Michonne learns that Rick does want to go home but is forced to stay back due to the circumstances, she gets motivated to take things in her own hands.
It would be interesting to see how Michonne comes up with an escape plan that saves them both from CRM.
