As the couple finally reunites, Rick Grimes reveals to Michonne that he is not actually associated with CRM and has made numerous attempts to escape. Despite Michonne's desire to bring Rick home, he informs her that it's too late as more soldiers are approaching.

In a sudden turn of events, Nat (Matthew August) is killed by one of the soldiers, prompting Rick to retaliate swiftly. Taking Michonne's sword, Rick stages it into Nat's hand.

Rick is aware that if CRM learns Michonne's true identity, they both will get killed. He, therefore, asks her to conceal her identity and pose as a survivor captured by him. He assures her they will be separated but vows to reunite once it's safe.

As the CRM soldiers close in, Rick holds Michonne at gunpoint while she assumes a posture of surrender.

Following Rick's directives, Michonne assumes a new persona. During questioning, she introduces herself as Dana, claiming to have survived alone in the wilderness for a long period.

She tells that she was in Georgia with her boyfriend and 40 other people, as she crafts a fabricated narrative.

Taking inspiration from her encounter with Elle and her community, she blends it into her story and tells that her community was run by some bad leaders.

Convinced by her statements, she is informed that once she seeks refuge in the county, she can never leave. Michonne accepts these conditions and gets an entry.

As Rick and Michonne believe they have successfully deceived everyone, Rick receives an unexpected visitor. Upon entering his cabin, he encounters Jadis Strokes (Pollyanna McIntosh), a warrant officer of CRM, who originally handed him over to the organisation.

Jadis is well aware that Dana is not who she claims to be. However, driven by her own motives, she suggests she could keep this information to herself while threatening him that she would get all his loved ones killed if they ever try to escape.

Though Rick's sole focus is on escape, Michonne appears driven by a desire to take down CRM after witnessing the atrocities committed by the organization upon the outside world.

Anticipation mounts for the inevitable chaos that will follow Rick and Michonne as they'll come up with a plan or attempts to escape.

Two episodes of 'The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live' are available to stream on AMC+.
