'The Voice' Season 24: Internet slams Instant Save winner Jacquie Roar's 'off key and screaming' finale performance
UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: Despite her mother's wishes, Jacquie Roar chose to sing 'More Than a Feeling' by Boston for her final performance on 'The Voice' Season 24. Meanwhile, viewers slammed Jacquie for making them hear her "screaming" during the finale.
When Jacquie revealed her music selection to her mother, she was advised that she needed to choose another song instead. "I'm trying to win this thing, Mom," Jacquie admitted.

The song was perfect for Jacquie's naturally deeper tone. With such high notes, she had her coach Reba McEntire cheering and standing!
Jacquie's coach Reba believed she "went big" with her first performance, implying that she'll go all out for the finale.
On Reddit, one fan noted, "Not a fan of this performance by Jacquie. ‘Alone’ was waaaay better IMO."
Another user chimed in, "Not feeling Jacquie tonight. Performance was glitchy."
One user also wrote, "There were some great moments in that performance, but I think Jacquie missed a couple big notes too. 🤔."
A fourth user said, "Yeah I don’t know if she hit the right notes but I just didn’t like it."
One user expressed disappointment writing, "YES YES YES. She literally just screams. Too predictable. Can’t believe she got the instant save and not Nini."
Another person added, "I think that’s why I didn’t like it. It felt like she decided belting is how she will win and spent the whole song doing that. It’s impressive, and I’ve been a fan of hers but I don’t think that was her best performance."
On X, one person wrote, "Jackie was a little off key and screaming her music."
"I don't like songs that come off as a huge amount of yelling & not actual singing," argued another.

Jacquie Roar won Instant Save to enter 'The Voice' Season 24 finale
On the December 12 episode, the show announced which four artists had received enough public votes to go to the finals this week. However, once the Top four were revealed to be Lila Forde, Huntley, Ruby Leigh, and Mara Justine, Jacquie was among the singers that had to battle for the Instant Save.
Viewers apparently loved Jacquie's performance of 'Alone' because when the Instant Save votes were tallied, Jacquie was chosen the winner, which meant she advanced to this week's finals shows. Jordan Rainer, Mac Royals, BIAS, and Nini Iris were among the artists sent home.
Who is 'The Voice' Season 24 contestant Jacquie Roar?
Jacquie, a 37-year-old wedding DJ and country singer from Oregon, captivated the Coaches with a version of Gretchen Wilson's 'Here for the Party' during the Blind Auditions. The performance earned Gwen a 4-Chair Turn, with Jacquie's 6-year-old daughter, Leilani, assisting her.
While Reba appeared to be the obvious pick, Gwen has developed a strong talent for country music after marrying OG Voice alum Blake Shelton.
Jacquie auditioned for 'The Voice' over a decade ago and continued to do so for years before landing her big break. Jacquie competed on 'American Idol' in 2012. She advanced to the group stage before being eliminated.
'The Voice' Season 24 finale results to be announced on December 19, at 9 pm ET on NBC.
