Fans who were hoping to see Kelly Clarkson back on the latest episode of 'The Voice', were in for a disappointment. The question, of course, still remained unanswered as to when would Kelly be back and what is keeping the singer out of the spotlight. While Kelsea Ballerini at the start of the latest episode said she would not be around for much longer, giving fans some hope that they will see Kelly sooner, fans still were left wondering what was wrong with Kelly.

It seems that the answer lay with an unlikely source, Blake Shelton. Blake has of course been known for his relentless teasing of Kelly, during the time that she has been away from the show. Blake has claimed that Kelly is not really sick and has just been avoiding the grueling battle rounds.

Blake Shelton had fans on the edge of their seats when after Team Kelly's Ainae and Anna Grace took to the stage he said 'Kelly has tested positive'... and then added, 'tested positive for dummy'. John Legend said that that was a kindergarten-level joke, which we have to agree with.

Kelsea went onto defend Kelly, saying that Kelly is like Oz from the Wizard of Oz. She's omnipresent and always texting Kelsea and advising her. Kelsea was doing her best to keep Team Kelly contestants feeling at ease and like Kelly was definitely watching out for them. Kelly, after Ainae and Anna Grace's performance, tweeted, "I got chills watching that at home! I can only imagine how your battle sounded live! So proud of you @AinaeMusix @annagfmusic ! #TeamKelly #TheVoice."

In the battle between Ainae and Anna Grace, however, Kelsea and Kelly jointly decided that Anna Grace was the winner and did not save Ainae, who was not stolen by any of the other judges either.

To find out when Kelly is back and who are the frontrunners on Team Kelly Clarkson tune into new episodes of 'The Voice' on Mondays 8/7c on NBC.
