After a gruesome round of battles last week, the knockouts of ‘The Voice’ Season 21 kickstarted on Monday, October 25 where we got to see singers from each team landing on the stage in pairs with their eye on the Live playoffs. John Legend brought Joshua Vacanti and Sabrina Dias for the first round of the knockouts as they battled out on their own different songs.

While Joshua Vacanti crooned Harry Styles’ Falling’, Sabrina Dias showed off her skills on Ed Sheeran’s iconic number ‘Autograph’. Interestingly, the British singing star was present on the show to help the contestants prior to their performance. Sheeran along with the coaches namely Blake Shelton, John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, and Ariana Grande mentored the singers to make sure they deliver an indelible performance on the singing reality show. For the unversed, coaches also got one steal during the knockouts that they could use to their advantage, to swipe an eliminated singer from another team.

Did Sabrina Dias deserve to stay on in the competition?

John Legend looked completely smitten by Joshua as he performed on his song ’Falling’. The renowned singer even stood from his chair to enjoy his set as he took the track a notch higher with his exceptionally smooth vocals. Sabrina, on the other hand, made sure she got the attention of all the judges as apart from her guitar, she also took over the drums which left the audience amused.

While Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton leaned toward Joshua, Ariana Grande said she would go for Sabrina. In the end, it was ultimately on Legend to make the final decision. After much deliberation, Legend picked Joshua that left a majority of social media users upset. The Internet felt Sabrina nailed her performance as compared to Joshua and deserved to stay. Despite the “steal” option up for grabs, the rest of the judges refrained from stealing Sabrina for their respective teams. Her journey on the show, unfortunately, ended right there as she headed back home with disappointment.

‘Wish someone would’ve stolen Sabrina’

The viewers of ‘The Voice’ logged into Twitter to express their opinion on the latest knockout round. “Wow. Wow. Wow!! Joshua crushes that song on so many different levels. He definitely deserve a spot in the finals,” said one as another spoke about Sabrina, “You can see that this woman was brought up in the church—spiritual voice. What a voice God has blessed her with!!!!”

Voicing their concern, one tweeted, “I wish someone would’ve stolen Sabrina” as another mentioned, “he picked joshua?? no way, i genuinely thought he’d pick sabrina.” One user asked, “Why didn't anyone steal Sabrina?!” Speaking on similar lines, one posted, “Ok but wth Sabrina was one of my favs! She should’ve stayed.” Another shared, “I am so upset sabrina deserved to win after joshua butchered good 4 u unfair.” While one concluded, “Joshua sucks so bad i don’t understand how people find his voice appealing. sabrina had that in the bag wtf.”
