Olivia Rodrigo set the summer of 2021 on fire with the release of her album 'Sour'. The young singer's extremely relatable lyrics combined with catchy music made it an instant summer bop all over the world. So it came as no surprise when John Legend decided to hop onto the summer phenomenon and picked Olivia's hit number- 'good 4 u' for his team members to perform during the battles.

He selected the song for his team members Joshua Vacanti and Keilah Grace. Both the singers aced their blind auditions and were more than ready to move onto the knockouts round. But before that, they'll have to clear the battles round. The duo was excited when they heard that an Olivia Rodrigo song was picked for them. With Camilla Cabello's help as a mentor, the two singers practiced really hard and were ready to battle it out on the stage. Fans too were very excited for the first performance of the episode opening with Olivia's track. But as soon as the singers began crooning to 'good 4 u' fans weren't here for it.

Both the singers gave their all during the performance, and the coaches praised the duo for their performance. Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson couldn't stop complimenting their pairing while Ariana Grande was impressed by Keilah's tempo. It was finally time for John to pick the winner of the battle and he chose Joshua. Fans however felt that both the performers butchered Olivia's song and called them out for it.

Many fans took to their Twitter apologizing to Olivia and during her to sue the show for ruining her song. A fan tweeted, "This is hurting my eyes AND my ears. Olivia Rodrigo deserves an apology. #TheVoice." "Let’s pray Olivia didn’t see that #TheVoice," wrote another fan. "I know olivia is regretting ever releasing this song #TheVoice," added a fan. "Girl @olivia_rodrigo if paramore threatened to sue you, you can 100% sue #thevoice contestants for ruining your song," commented a fan.
