'The Voice' 2023 Battles: Fans hail Kelly Clarkson for saving the day as she swoops in to steal Kala Banham

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Blind Auditions have finally come to an end after six episodes of 'The Voice' Season 23. Let the Battles begin! Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, Niall Horan, and Chance the Rapper will pair up their team members for duets in the coming episodes, with only one singer crowned the winner by their coach, and viewers can't wait to see it all unfold.

The losing contestant will either be eliminated, stolen by another coach with their one steal, or receive a playoff pass, as is customary on the NBC show. This season, the playoff pass is a new addition, and each coach can give one pass to a contestant, allowing them to skip the Knockouts. The competition has just gotten more interesting. Gina Miles and Kala Banham are the first to compete for a spot on Niall Horan's team.

Niall chose Birdy's 'Skinny Love' for Kala and Gina to sing during the Battles. He chose the two young singers for their "beautiful storytellers" and sweet voices. After losing sleep the previous night due to this tough decision, Niall picked Gina instead of Kala. But Kala is still in the competition as Kelly used her only steal to keep her! The viewers and fans of the show are ecstatic to see the young artist not go home.

The two young artists performed 'Skinny Love', a song Niall chose specifically for the "beautiful storytellers". Kelly described Gina and Kala's sentimental performance as "magical." Chance added that either of them could win and that it is a tough competition. Blake added that Gina would sound amazing on a record and that he would choose her if he were Niall. Kelly and Niall both gave the girls a standing ovation and Niall had a tough time making a choice. In the end, though he took Blake's advice and picked Gina.

'Hold her close' 

For a minute there, fans were worried that Kala would leave the competition and was sad. But Kelly swooped in and stole Kala and the fans are grateful to her for saving the young artist. Many believe Kala is an amazing steal and is a great addition to Kelly's team. They have taken to Twitter to express their thanks to 'The Voice' coach as one said, "Congrats on stealing Kala! She is going to be an amazing asset to your team! Hold her close!@kellyclarkson #TheVoice." Another added, "thanks, Kelly!!!! Kala deserved that steal!!" One more tweeted, "Kala is a great choice."

Some fans have also expressed their dissatisfaction with Niall and think he picked the wrong singer. The fans of the show believe Kala will score a win for Team Kelly as one said, "Kala is going to give Team Kelly a win!" Another tweeted, "@kellyclarkson #TheVoice just won the voice getting Kala." One more added, "@NiallOfficial #TheVoice you picked the wrong girl Kala was awesome!" 

'The Voice' Season 23 airs every Monday from 8 to 9 pm ET and Tuesday from 9 to 10 pm ET only on NBC. You can also stream 'The Voice' Season 23 the next day on Peacock.
