'The Voice' 2022 Blind Auditions: Who is Connor Sweeny? Blake Shelton's biggest fan returns home with zero chair turn
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Episode 5 of 'The Voice' really smashed some hopes and dreams as another contestant had to return home empty-handed. Conner Sweeny, who claimed to be country music maestro Blake Shelton's 'biggest fan', faced a major disappointment as his hero didn't turn for him. In fact, none of the judges turned their chairs for the budding country artist.
Conner auditioned with 'Ain't Worth the Whiskey' a country song by artist Cole Swindell but did not manage to impress his idol Blake, who told Conner he needed "soul searching". Fellow judges Gwen Stefani, Camila Cabello and John Legend, agreed with the coach on this one, claiming Conner required to practice more to perfect his artistry. It was a sad day for Conner as he received some heavy criticism from his idol in front of such a massive stage and crowd.

Conner Sweeny is a 23-year-old country singer from Tennessee. Originally from South Carolina, Conner stands at a whopping 6'3 height and claims it is difficult to get comfortable because of his tall and lanky physique. The budding country artist says he's close to his parents and siblings and is in a band. He plays in a band called 'Barefoot Boys' with his friends, where they all jam barefoot. The name is coined so because of this very reason. With his band, Conner has played gigs all over the southeast. He also claims he's the biggest fan of Blake and knows all his songs like the back of his hand.

Conner decided to audition with 'Ain't Worth the Whiskey' a country song by artist Cole Swindell. But unfortunately, the country boy received zero turns from the judges. He had hoped to be on Blake's team, and not getting a turn from him left Conner undoubtedly feeling defeated. Blake said he didn't turn for Conner as he thought his voice had a few cracks and advised the young singer to do some "soul searching" to get better. On the other hand, Camila claimed that she almost hit her button but, in the end, didn't do so. Blake's wife Gwen gushed about Conner, saying he's her type but felt he would have been better suited for Blake because of his country roots. And lastly, John had a rational explanation saying that he was waiting for Conner to hit bigger notes to be sure of him.
