'The Voice' 2022 Battles: Camila saves Steven after picking Morgan as winner, fans say she 'did the right thing'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: After aggressively luring some of the best artists onto Team Camila, the new 'The Voice' coach is ready to walk the talk by saving her team members as well.
The recently aired episode 8 of 'The Voice' Season 22 featured the contestants battling it out with a fellow team member chosen by their coach to continue their stint on the show. Camila Cabello decided to pit the first four-chair turn artist of the season- Morgan Myles against songwriter Steven McMorran. Owing to their Nashville connection and their impeccable vocals, Camila felt that they made the perfect opponents for the battle round. She picked Miley Cyrus' 'Wrecking Ball' as the song for their battle round. With the help of her battle advisor Charlie Puth, Camila worked with her team to finetune their battles round performance.

When it was time to deliver their final performance, both Morgan and Steven pulled out all the stops and gave a spectacular performance that seemed more like a duet than a battle. John Legend and Blake Shelton picked Morgan as their winners, based on her range. Camila too agreed with them and named the four-chair-turn singer as the winner of the battle round.
Steven thanked Camila for the opportunity and was just leaving the stage when the 'Havana' singer used her only "Save" option to save him from elimination. In her confessional, Camila explained her actions by pointing out how Morgan is irreplacable in the competition and had the potential to go all the way to finals, but on the other hand, the world hasn't seen Steven's talents just yet. So she wanted to give him a chance to showcase his amazing gift to the world.
While Steven felt humbled by Camila's faith in him, 'The Voice' fans were impressed by her move. Many fans took to Twitter to praise Camile for her very smart use of the save option. A fan tweeted, "@camila_cabello #TheVoice I think u saving Steven was the right thing to do way to go Camilla!!!!!" "I am so glad you gave Steven another shot you really have a good heart you are right on about giving him a chance to shine@camila_cabello #TheVoice," wrote a fan.
