Gong Yoo
Actor Gong Yoo has a bachelor's degree in theater at Kyung Hee University and worked as a model before becoming an actor. His works include 'Squid Game', 'Seobok', 'Kim Ji-young: Born 1982', 'Guardian: The Lonely and Great God', 'The Age of Shadows', 'Train to Busan', 'A Man and a Woman', 'Big', 'Silenced', 'Finding Mr. Destiny' and 'The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince'.

The cast also includes Bae Doona as Doctor Song Ji-an, an astrobiologist, Lee Joon as Captain Ryoo Tae-seok, the head engineer, Heo Sung-tae as Kim Jae-sun, the Chief of Resource Group of Aviation Administration and Lee Moo-saeng as Gong Soo-hyuk, the Head of the security team.

As per the Netflix synopsis of the series, "Set in a future Earth that has undergone desertification, 'The Silent Sea' is the story of the members of a special team sent to secure a mysterious sample from an abandoned research facility on the moon."
