PARIS, FRANCE: The biographical drama on Apple TV+, 'The New Look' delves into the flashy glamourous realms of the 1940s fashion world.

The initial episodes of the series established the German invasion of the fashion capital and how it impacted the fashion world in Paris.

The show places a primary emphasis on the personal lives of fashion icons Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche) during their formative years.

In the initial episodes of the series, it becomes evident that Christian Dior faces significant challenges as he endeavors to rescue his younger sister Catherine Dior (Maisie Williams) from the grasp of the Nazis but fails miserably.

In the latest episode of the biographical drama, the opening scene depicts Christian attending French singer Edith Piaf's party. During the gathering, she requests everyone mourning a loved one to stand up.

Jacques Fath (Manuel Severi) urges him to stand up, but Christian refuses, as doing so would be an acknowledgment that Catherine is not alive and will not be returning home.

As the episode unfolds, it becomes increasingly apparent that Christopher's life has come to a standstill, gripped by the belief that Catherine is still alive—a belief that Christopher is now beginning to question.

However, his outlook takes a positive turn when he receives an unexpected phone call revealing that Catherine is indeed alive and was discovered roaming Dresden after surviving a death march.

Upon learning about his dear sister's homecoming, Christian shines with joy.

The sequence depicting Christian and the families of other captives arriving at the train station to welcome the survivors stands out as one of the most heart-wrenching and emotionally charged scenes in the entire show.

The moment when everyone joins in solidarity to sing will undoubtedly send shivers down your spine and the sight of the survivors' plight will also shock you from head to foot.

Afterward, Christian is distraught to discover that Catherine is not one of the passengers. He expresses his frustration to Madame Delahaye (Darina Al Joundi), who is still certain that his beloved sister will undoubtedly return. Her assertion comes to fruition when Jacques discloses to him that Catherine has indeed returned.

The fashion designer became very thrilled and hurried back to visit her. However, he is rendered speechless to find that her sister is still grappling with the horrors of Ravensbruck and is lying on the bed like a living corpse.

'The New Look' is now streaming on Apple TV+.
