'The New Look' Episode 3 Takeaway: Coco Chanel gets Hans Von Dincklage and Spatz arrested
Spoilers for 'The New Look'
PARIS, FRANCE: Todd A Kessler's newest biographical drama, 'The New Look,' on Apple TV+, follows the lives of Coco Chanel and Christian Dior as they encounter challenges in surviving war-torn Paris.
The drama's last two episodes focused on Coco Chanel's (Juliette Binoche) romance with German official Hans Von Dincklage, Spatz (Claes Bang), and her effort to see Winston Churchill win sole control of her business.
The third episode, titled 'Nothing But Blue Skies,' focuses on the ramifications of Coco's association with Spatz.
Coco Chanel discovers the Nazi collaborator's list
As the Allied forces make their way into Paris, Coco becomes uneasy to find that her name will be on a list of Nazi accomplices.
She approaches Pierre Reverdy (Sagamore Stévenin), commander of the resistance force, and he advises her to provide the name of a high-ranking German officer who may be able to provide intelligence on Germans.
Coco, who was still confused with the situation and harbored strong feelings for Spatz, resolved to get him arrested upon discovering that she was nothing but a mission for him, and he only used her to acquire intelligence.
Hans Von Dincklage and Spatz apologize to Coco Chanel
Coco enlists Baron Vaufreland's (Christopher Buchholz) aid to find Spatz and meets him at a cathedral. Spatz apologizes to Coco for abandoning her in Madrid, and the two make up.
Spatz asks Coco to join him, as he was fleeing the country before the arrival of allied troops. Coco pleads with him not to go without her, as she also wants to join him.
Afterward, she provides the Reverdy with Spatz's whereabouts. Coco was left perplexed once again when it was revealed that Spatz had already left the cathedral, without even waiting for her.
Reverdy informs Coco that her name will undoubtedly be on the list, prompting her to consider leaving the nation. In the end, she discovers that, owing to her assistance, Spatz was arrested, and her name has also been removed from the list.
'The New Look' is streaming now on Apple TV+.
