'The Masked Singer': Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray unmasked as Orca, here are all the clues you may have missed
A lot has happened in 'The Masked Singer' Season 5 already since the Orca made his way into the competition, let's jog your memory a little bit. The Orca made an impactful entry, covering 'We're Not Gonna Take It' by Twisted Sister leaving everyone on their feet with his electric performance. The judges and the limited audiences who were voting had no choice but to keep him in the competition and instead send the original masked celebrity, the Raccoon, who was later revealed as Danny Trejo, home.
The Orca will once again make it to the stage for the Group A finals on Wednesday, April 14, night. "One celebrity is unmasked from Group A, and the remaining singers advance; another wildcard enters the competition for the chance to steal a spot in the game," reads the summary of the episode titled 'In the Nick of Time!' which might be symbolic of original host Nick Cannon returning to host the show after recovering from Covid-19.

'The Masked Singer' Spoilers: Who is Robopine? Ginuwine to Montell Jordan, here are the clues so far
Another wildcard contestant will perform alongside the remaining Group A contestants that include: the Russian Dolls, Seashell, Robopine and Orca. During the latter's introduction in the show, we had told you about the judges' guesses for the Orca. The most popular names among the panel were Dave Grohl and Kevin Bacon and we told you the reasoning for the same. But over the five seasons of the show, it's been proved that they're far from correct most of the time and the same is the case with their guess for the Orca. Here's who it is under the mask.
All the clues for the Orca
Orca's clue package was based at a place called 'Orca's Piehole', a pizza restaurant. The menu listed offbeat dishes namely: 'lemon pizza $9, orange pizza $4, pumpkin pizza $9' while someone threw tomatoes at Orca who was on a tight deadline set by his father. The Orca had to "make waves" by the time he was 25 or else he had to move on. And it looked like that because he was becoming more of a "punchline" than a "big star". The "clock was ticking" he said as it showed the time 2:59.
Orca's final attempts to make it included hiding his audition tapes in pizza delivery boxes and delivering it "all around the town". He finally seems to have a breakthrough as he gets swooped up by an Eagle and lands into a bowl of candy on a boat. Orca's final words in the package video are “call to order our killer special, extra large and extra anchovies” while the screen says “VISIT US 1313 MELVILLE COURT.”
Signs that Mark McGrath from Sugar Ray is the Orca
All of Orca's clues have been a little too revealing for example the biggest giveaway is the 2:59 on the clock which in military time is 14:59, which is also the name of a Sugar Ray album. The band's producer McG also had said that they snuck a music video in a pizza and delivered it to the head of a record company which in turn helped them get a record deal around the same time when McGrath was 25.
McGrath lives in Orange County and there were a number of references to the same, including the 9-4-9 area code (refer to Orca piehole menu prices). The eagle swooping Orca up could be a nod to the band's hit 'Fly'. Orca also claimed to be a "killer" and said "extra" a couple of times in the clue package which could be him hinting towards the time he hosted 'Killer Karaoke' and 'Extra'. Also, his voice too is a complete giveaway that it's none but Sugar Ray boybander Mark McGrath and we are very excited that he's on the show.
'The Masked Singer' airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET on FOX.
