'The Mandalorian' Season 3 Episode 1 Review: This is the way to Din Djarin's redemption
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jon Favreau is ready to take you all to the 'Star Wars' world with 'The Mandalorian' Season 3. Let's pick up where 'The Last of Us' star, Pedro Pascal left us in the finale episode of Season 2. 'Chapter 16: The Rescue' was the eighth and final episode of the second season of the Disney+ sci-fi television series, 'The Mandalorian'. It was written by showrunner Jon Favreau and directed by Peyton Reed.
In many ways, the events of the Season 2 finale open up the scope of the series, allowing for storytelling possibilities we might never have anticipated, since the show has certainly had to contort itself narratively to explain why Mando would leave Grogu with a stranger or hide him somewhere during his most dangerous missions, and now he won't have to. On the other hand, what is the show if not a "Lone Wolf and Cub" story of Mando and Grogu and their adorable bond? To us, the best season finales are always those that propel a show in unexpected directions and don't have a predictable path laid out, so it's honestly thrilling to be faced with the prospect that 'The Mandalorian' Season 3 is about to be entirely different from the previous two seasons that have come before, perhaps filling in the blank spots about Mandalore that the franchise has only hinted at until now.

The Apostate shows 'this is the way'
The first episode of 'The Mandalorian' Season 3 will make anyone say 'this is cinema'. Be it the VFX or directorial angles, it will leave fans in awe. Season 3 Episode 1 picks up when Din Djarin goes on another mission this time, now to Mandalore where he can bathe in the living waters and "be forgiven for his transgressions". Let's move on and address the elephant in the room or should we say the Grogu? His adorable features and cooing is one of the main highlights of the episode as always. The episode had many adorable and funny moments be it, 'The Anzellans' who made Mandore understand how his droid friend is "poodoo".
Din Djarin detains the dangerous
After the pirates, droids, and life lessons that Mandore gave to Grogu, he finally landed in the Kalavela, which is another city in the Mandalorian system (although it did look a lot like earth). He met Bo Katan who has relegated herself to sulk after losing out on reclaiming the Darksaber. Unsurprisingly, she has little interest in holding court for Din or talking about his obsession with redeeming himself to the tune of the cultish myths certain Mandalorians ascribed to. She gives him the details of the mine, which leaves the audience to wonder "will Djarin be able to succeed or is this a waste attempt?"
