'The Boys' Season 4: All the members of The Seven ranked, and there can really be only one #1
Contains spoilers for 'The Boys' Season 4
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'The Boys' has captured a massive audience with its unique take on superheroes, flipping them into the show's antagonists. Combining comedy and intense action, it's the well-developed and relatable characters that keep fans hooked.
From The Deep to Hughie, every character in the show has flaws, but some stand out more positively than others. What makes the series so engaging is its strong writing of both heroes and villains.
Some characters are so morally bankrupt that fans eagerly anticipate their next heinous deeds, especially the members of The Seven.
After losing key Supes and potential team members like Queen Maeve, Soldier Boy, Black Noir, Stormfront, and Starlight in recent seasons, the Seven are undergoing a rebuilding phase under Homelander's leadership.
With the assistance of newcomer Sister Sage, Homelander aims to assemble one of the most powerful lineups the Seven has ever seen. On that note, here are all the current members of The Seven from 'The Boys' Season 4, ranked, according to their likability.
6) The Deep
The Deep is an original member of the Seven, mocking Aquaman from DC Comics. He's known as the king of the seas, talking to sea creatures and having a secret liking for Ambrosious, an octopus played by Tilda Swinton.
Besides chatting with ocean animals, The Deep swims well and has gills for breathing underwater.
Despite feeling bad afterward, The Deep's actions, especially toward Annie, are awful and make people dislike him. He also has sex with real sea creatures, which adds to his bad reputation.
Throughout the show, The Deep does some shocking things that surprise viewers. Apart from his bad treatment of Annie, The Deep is disloyal and mean, especially to his friend Eagle the Archer, because a church leader told him to be.
In 'The Boys' Season 4, The Deep still feels unsure about his place in The Seven, especially when Sister Sage joins and changes how the team works.
He starts to warm up to her, but she uses this to gain more power over The Seven, making him more of a liability than an asset at this point.
5) Black Noir
In 'The Boys' Season 3, fans finally learned about Black Noir's past. He's one of the Seven and Homelander's trusted ally, known for his mysterious nature.
Black Noir never talks or takes off his mask, and he's not often seen in action, but when he does appear, it's always serious.
During season 3, viewers find out about Black Noir's history with Soldier Boy. He helps capture Soldier Boy and later flees Vought Tower when Soldier Boy returns, fearing for his life.
What's interesting is that Black Noir struggles with a form of psychosis, where he imagines himself talking to cute animated animals.
Despite dying gruesomely in the previous season, Black Noir makes a surprising comeback in 'The Boys' Season 4. It turns out that after Homelander killed the original Black Noir, Vought hired an actor to replace him, keeping the hero's death a secret from the public.
He looks to Homelander and the other Supes for guidance, unsure how to play Black Noir without speaking.
In a recent episode, it's revealed that the new Black Noir does have superpowers and is also narcoleptic, which adds an intriguing twist to the character.
This new angle on Black Noir is well-received, however, he still feels overshadowed by Homelander and lacks significant storyline development this Season.
4) Firecracker
In 'The Boys' Season 4, a new Supe named Firecracker is introduced as a conspiracy theorist with a strong grudge against Starlight and her supporters. Firecracker possesses super strength and can create sparks by snapping her fingers.
Despite her average abilities, her intense hatred for Starlight makes her a valuable asset, according to Sister Sage, in the upcoming conflict against the Boys.
Formerly known as Sparkler, Firecracker and Starlight were in the same pageant circuit as children. A damaging rumor spread by young Annie January ruined Firecracker's career aspirations, fueling her desire for vengeance.
Now, Firecracker is obsessed with tarnishing Starlight's reputation, a goal shared by Homelander and the Seven for some time.
Firecracker introduces a new superhero with a different motive and agenda, bringing a refreshing twist to the series. While most Supes rely on their powers as their main advantage, Firecracker's strength lies in her influence and support from the public.
This presents a unique challenge that The Boys haven't encountered before, as Starlight previously used public support to her advantage.
3) A-Train
A-Train is a Supe with the ability to run at superhuman speeds. He has been a member of the Seven since 'The Boys' Season 1, but he constantly worries about being kicked off the team due to his declining speed.
Feeling inferior, he obeys every command from Homelander to stay in his good graces, even if it means harming innocent people.
By Season 4, A-Train is fed up with Homelander's leadership. Disillusioned with life in the Seven, especially with their nonsensical and inaccurate biopics (including one featuring surprise guest star Will Ferrell training him as a young Supe), A-Train secretly leaves Vought.
He gives important information to Hughie, Starlight, and the rest of the Boys. This makes him more likable than before, showing his growth and change over the 4 seasons.
Personally, it makes us feel happy for him to see his character develop in this way.
2) Sister Sage
In 'The Boys' Season 4, Sister Sage joins the Seven, causing a significant shake-up within the team. Sage's addition is unconventional because her powers are less flashy compared to Homelander or A-Train.
She possesses the ability to be the smartest person in the world, granting her exceptional planning and strategic abilities.
Despite her understated powers, Sister Sage proves to be one of the Seven's most formidable members. Her unmatched intelligence allows her to strategically outmaneuver the Boys in their ongoing conflict.
Recruited by Homelander, Sage takes charge of the team's strategic operations, leading them to corner the heroes at every opportunity.
1) Homelander
Whether fans love to hate him or hate to love him, there's something about Homelander's character that makes him strangely compelling despite his monstrous actions.
He's committed many terrible deeds and taken lives, yet Homelander remains a captivating presence. Anthony Starr portrays him so convincingly that fans are genuinely afraid of him as a person.
Fans eagerly await the day when Homelander faces justice for his crimes, though there's also a fascination with seeing how far he'll go. Season 3 hinted at his downfall, but things didn't go as planned.
Despite his brutal actions, Homelander's unpredictable behavior keeps viewers glued to the screen. His dictatorial rule is integral to the essence of 'The Boys'.
Not only is Homelander the strongest Supe ever, but he's also the most dangerous. While many Supes exploit their powers over humans, Homelander takes it to an extreme level.
He views himself as superior to all humans, seeing them merely as playthings.
This attitude leads him to kill without hesitation, presenting the greatest threat to humanity and the most interesting member of The Seven in 'The Boys' Season 4.
